@mcbone

Yeah, have a great Easter everyone. May I recommend Frank Morrison's book "Who Moved the Stone", a great thought provoking read exploring the biblical account of Jesus' last few days before his crucifixion and resurrection and exploring the biblical accounts, the conspiracy theories and analysing other historical records to ascertain the truth of Jesus' sacrifice and substitutionary atonement on the cross and victory over death by rising on the third day!

We're also watching 'The Passion of the Christ' and obviously eating some chocolate However, some of the scenes are a bit harrowing so be warned.

I've read that book. You feel you should reward yourself when you get to the end. It can be, like any explortive book, hard to get past all the chapters. But I did so a few years back. The author seems to start off being a skeptic, presents all the evidence known, and by the end I wasn't certain of his conclusion. As if it was also up to us to decide.

That film is also on tonight on local TV. Also watched a few years back. Mum wants to see it.

Oh yes Heppy Easter everyone.

Happy Easter to you too,

As for the Passion of Christ ... I never finished watching it. It scares me to death to see how cruel men can be. :(

Yeah, and this is set around 2,000 years ago. How much worse are men now?

I hear yeah, I've had that movie for a year now & still not ready to watch it yet. The Romans were a sick bunch in those days, the way they treated ppl.

Happy Easter from me

@sundown

Yes the Romans were quite ruthless, so when you stop to think that the head Roman in Jerusalem at the time the infamous Pontius Pilot wanted TO RELEASE JESUS as he spent days with him and like him. It was the Pharisees, the head rabbiis who sent him to his death because Yeshua (Jesus) made them accountable for the wickedness. (The famous Jesus in the Temple)

This is what got Gibson into trouble with Passion as he depicted this quite accurately.

Even in the Bible it records Paul making the point to the Jews how they killed him and the Jews get upset at being reminded yet again.

Yes, "The Passion of the Christ" is indeed quite intense, especially for younger ones. But it is probably the most accurate account of the actual inflictions imposed on Jesus by the Romans. The Roman empire was quite brutal at that time.
