Cloanto will know, and my release information last time was by a personal email, so they should be responsive to asking. The incremental updates are few and nothing has changed much since 2012r2 as I recall, and that was how the included rp9 files were handled, again, I believe.

Im not an expert to answer to this, but by half guessing.
You probably can get at least most and most important part of it for free for exchange of some time. I however personally rather put up couple of tens of euros on table to make sure i get something good and to save some time.
Thing is that usually if someone actually decides to sell something, he puts enough effort to it to make it worth being bought.
It is just like lot of information nowadays. Mostly you can find out about everything from internet by checking forums etc. but you might save days by buying a ebook that is talking about the topic, plus in addition you will avoid getting amateurs partially wrong answers. For lot of times when for example looking for fixing instructions to something, amateurs usually have some quick solutions, but ones that might hurt the product in long run, since they dont know something that pros do know.
But to the actual question.
Amiga Forever plus version, (as well as C64 forever) have some games legally, that are not available legally for free elsewhere (ie. back2roots).
They also introduced (I think) in 2012 version their RP (Retro player) platform, which makes it both very very easy, as well as nice to play some old games and demos etc.
You simply choose them from a list, and ones included in the package itself have even nice images/videos/info about them that shows up in that RP player thing.
For someone looking for easy game or two every now and then without wanting to hassle with technical stuff, this is very appealing system. Especially since I feel it funny already just to browse through the available 100+ games just to see what is there and to pick which one to play.
When i click on start button on that game, Amiga Forever automatically chooses the emulation options for me, like wether to emulate AGA, OCS or ECS chipset, which Kickrom to use etc, which processor to emulate, etc.
All very nice for people like me, who dont want to bother with the technical stuff, but just want to click a button to run their emulation games.
I dont think I have added even 3 games to my games collection. I just play the games that come with the package, since i want it easy. And that is exactly what Amiga Forever offers me. Everything easy. Its not that adding games would be hard. It is very easy, but i rather skip even that part and just click and play the games already there.
For me, the most interesting part of next version is to find out what new games there are that werent there previous year that i get to play nice and easy again. Last edited by Bugala on 23-Jun-2014 at 04:25 PM.

I contacted NSA (in the US)...
They said that they have noticed programming on a 2014 -version! (It's probably being tested at the moment...)

My favorite feature is the authoring and one-click playback. Right-click a title and select Edit to see what I mean. Content that is prepared in this way (saved as RP9 files) is designed to be cross-emulator, cross-platform and to remain usable for a very long time. For example, without reconfiguring anything, you can already now run the same Amiga games with both WinUAE and WinFellow (right-click, Play with... in Amiga Forever, it will also tell you if the title is compatible or not, e.g. because it uses AGA or other features). And we keep working to make this possible on other platforms (Mac, mobile...) as well in the future, with content you can create with Amiga Forever today. |

The latest AmiKit 1.7 is listed in the Systems tab if you install the full Amiga Forever 2014 Plus Edition.
For updates, there has been a change in the AmiKit update server which broke compatibility with older versions, however I've been in touch with Jan and this is being worked on.

Updated to 2014 now.
IT'S A FUCKNG SHIT
All my configs get out. So I must reconfig all the games. Amikit it's out too. And it's about 1 hour download with an "Application extraction in progress" window.

You should read and head warnings and instructions about backing up modified files.
I don't have AmiKit installed but for the 3,x install the installer clearly asks whether you want to replace it, or merely overwrite (with only duplicate files being replaced, not addtional ones removed).
[edit] That sounded a bit unsysmpathetic, I didn't mean it to be , it's a pain if you configured stuff and you lose the changes. But the installer does tell you that it will overwrite changes and that you should back stuff up first. For that reason I moved my gcc and source directories out of the way. [/edit]
