All my configs get out. So I must reconfig all the games.

What type of files are you missing? If you added content to the Games, Demoscene, etc. tabs, it should still be there. However if you modified some of the preinstalled titles that came with Amiga Forever, they would have been reset by the new installation overwriting the same files (as per installation warning, asking for confirmation once or even twice in some cases). No user-added content is ever deleted (not even if you uninstall Amiga Forever).

I heard some reports in the past where there was an Amiga Forever and WinUAE side by side, and after an update some WinUAE configuration files appeared to be "lost". But it was just a matter of selecting the path containing the files again, and they were still there. Amiga Forever 2014 does however not interfere with an existing WinUAE installation or paths.

Either way, I'd like to understand this better and see if something can be improved.

And it's about 1 hour download with an "Application extraction in progress" window.

This could be some antivirus interfering with the download or extraction. Could you try and disable it and retry? The AmiKit files are stored on a fast CDN network, you should automatically get the download from a location closest to you.

@thread

the release notes for amiga forever 2014 suggest personal paint 7.2 is included. is it? does this mean personal paint 7.2 for AOS4 is about to be released?

@mcbone

Well, after 1 day, yes ONE DAY, my Amikit system it's working again.
I don't know what's wrong with my update. Some config are missing includes Amikit, now all works again.

I think that the "news" it's only for new buyers, not for the updates.
The new PPaint 7.2 it's not in the update.

Mike and I are working on this, ( well Mike is I'm just testing the installer, building windows installs is well outside my experience!) it was overlooked, it *is* present in the ISO version, and will shortly be available in a revised update (I belive).

@amigakit

Be nice if some made a AmigaOS4 GUI for Amiga Forever, it should not be too hard for some one with the time to do it.

As someone who owns 2012 Plus is it worth the upgrade to 2014? I like AF simply because it offers a pretty robust package for what I need. So if it is worth the upgrade then I will get it.
