| I am running YAM version 2.9p1 on my uA1c and AmigaDOS 4.1 update 6. I recently was in YAM and did something (no exactly sure what), and now have the situation that whenever I start YAM, the incoming folder does not show any emails (like it did in the past). Also, when I start YAM, the incoming folder is not highlighted (like I think it used to be). I can click on some other folder and see their emails, and then when I click on the incoming folder, all my emails show up. How do I get back to the point where my incoming folder is highlighted and my emails are displayed when I start YAM?
Thanks. |

Maybe the incoming folder is not marked as Incoming anymore for some reason, it has become an ordinary folder..? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Yes, I have done a right click on the incoming menu and then selected the update menu item. After doing that, all the emails do show up, but then when I quit and restart YAM the incoming folder once again is no longer highlighted in blue and there are no emails displayed until I click one of the other folders and then go back to the incoming folder.

| @Deniil715 If I double click on the incoming folder, the display and directory names both show incoming, the type is set to received mail, and the mode is set to normal. Also, when I clcik on the "get" icon to force it to get my emails, all of my new, unread emails show up in the incoming folder, but none of my old emails are there until I have visited another folder and then come back to this one.

try checking the protection bits of the .fconfig and .index files in folders/incoming. they should be ----rw-d or ----rwed.
also check prefs, TCP/IP and tht the incoming folder is set to incoming (shouldn't cause your problem if it's not though.
In startup/quit switch on load all folders. _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

Thanks for the ideas but no luck. In startup/quit the load all folders flag was not set. I changed it, saved, quit, and restarted YAM but still no luck.
I should mention that when I start YAM, the incoming folder shows that I have 300 or so messges and that its size is 30 or so MB, but as I have said, the messages are not being displayed initially.

ok, next step, check your mui libs, NList, texteditor, thebar etc. latest versions should be on both aminet and os4depot. _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

I asked YAM to check for updates and it did not find any. At the same time I really don't pretend to undestand how something like that would cause such a major difference in YAM's behavior.

Whait if you use YAM menu Folders->'Flush all indices', quit YAM and restart it. Do you have a YAM assign? IIRC is no more needed since YAM2.8/2.9? What Filesystem do you for YAM partition/volume? (SFS, FFS,...) Is such partition/volume (almost) full? |
