Hello everyone!

So I've finally decided to sell my CyberStormPPC as you can see here:

http://www.tradera.com/item/301822/212561164/cyberstormppc

It includes 96MB RAM and has never been overclocked. The PPC is clocked at 233MHz and the 060 at 50MHz.

I would prefer to sell to someone in Sweden or even close to where I live but I do ship it to the neighbour countries as well.

I hope that it will come to good use!

Tomorrow will be the last day. I hope that whoever gets it will be a happy owner and perhaps do something usefull or just enjoy it :) . Love to all crazy computer-lovers that are still into Amiga :)

It's a shame you have to sell such a rare piece of hardware, but good for the one who can purchase it... amazed at the price these things are going at :)

Q!

It's sad in a way but I rarely use it so it's better that someone else has it .

Even the BlizzardPPC's sell for around €1000. I guess it's very cheap at the moment.

@NutsAboutAmiga

IMO it's kind of a nice experience and it's the very best CPU-card that you can get for the A3000/A4000. So if you use one of those it's a nice upgrade. Also the price isn't very different from when it's new and that was without RAM.

I can see what you mean but we are all different apperently.

Also, why argue? Using the Amiga at all is seen as kind of retarded by the majority of people and I guess that you are doing just that? What seems "normal" to you might be seen as supid or weird by others. As an Amigan I'm sure you know that.

With that argument you can try to justifie the price of any current Amiga hardware. The X1000 for 3000 Euro?! For some people it's obviously worth it.

Glad you got a decent price.
With the PPC progress in WinUAE, I too would sell mine before the bottom drops out of the market.

I think that it's a fair price. WinUAE is very nice but there is always a difference between emulation and the real thing

I'm not arguing, but I'm curious, and I deficiently like a comment from the buyer.

What is he going to use it for?
What does he expect from it?

Sure Amiga is insanity, not some thing you need, but some ting you love doing.

The price is what some one is willing to pay for it.

@NutsAboutAmiga

If he wants to leave a comment I'm sure that he will.

Insanity? Nah I think that having fun is the opposite to insanity and that is what the Amiga is to me (kind of). That people don't understand why it's fun doesn't make an amigan insane, does it?

Why are you upset over the price? What is it to you what someone else buys?

I think he is right that it is "insane" in todays world but it is also "insane" to buy X1000 with AmigaOS. It is a hobby and some people are obviously willing and able to spend lots of money on it. Gratulation, good price.

"Fair" is here the wrong word, it is like selling parts for oldtimers or selling paintings, it is what someone at a certain point of time is willing to spend. As long as the buyer gets what was promised there is nothing to excuse or justify.

For 68k there will be soon better and much cheaper options be there. For the PowerUP part there was never much software and if I would like to use AmigaOS (PPC) I would prefer to buy something from Acube. Perhaps a collector with money.

I think we beat ourselves up too much about spending money on our hobby. All of my friends have hobbies and they all cost lots of money. Golf/Cars/Wine/Photography.

The trap we always fall into is comparing our unique custom made Amiga systems to other mass produced computers.

Perhaps we should give ourselves a break eh?

@Xmas87

You do not need to spend lots of money on it, you can "waste" a lot of time though

I personal would not want to spend more than 800 EUR for a 20 years old accellerator that can fail tomorrow (and you have no chance to get any money back). The new accellerator from Apollo team plus a used A500 is much more affordable and justifyable to me. And till then I can use my environment on modern hardware using UAE. But I know that people think different and are willing to spend lots of money on old cards.

Break? I do not know. If people are willing to spend the money and get what was promised be it. For me there must be a relation between money and what you get, 800 EUR for a card is much too much, for that I get a brandnew notebook with everything included so it would not be justifyable to me.

I wasn't "insane" when I bought my X1000. It was my money, I wanted one so I bought it. There seems to be a lot of people who want to tell others how to spend their hard earned money.

Last week I spent $1500 on two ancient arcade cabinets just so that I can play Defender and Phoenix. I didn't waste money buying the cabinets, but I do look back on my childhood and think about how much money I wasted stuffing coins into these things in the 70s and 80s.

Everything is "relative"

"A4000(T), A3000, A2000, A1200(T), A1200, CD32, Minimig+ARM, FPGA Arcade, Chameleon64, C-One, C128, C128D, C64C, C64, VIC-20, CBM 8032, Efika"

BTW nice collection you seem to have forgotten to put your "X1000" in it

I'm not upset at the price, clearly the buyer thinks its worth it, so I can't argue with that. I just that I do not understand way he thinks its worth it.

I try to make sense of this I like to know what he is going to use it for.

Or he is just buying it for his own private museum?

Is because he thinks he can sell it for higher price?

Is because this hardware can do some thing no other hardware can do?

@NutsAboutAmiga

the buyer has propably a highend A4000 with everything and always wanted to buy this card he could not afford when he was younger.

Must buying something amiga-related make sense? I think not

the same is the case for other "non-68k" hardware too
