Ubuntu offers you an update to version 14.04 for your A-EON Live Remix distribution.



Important: This isn't an update for the A-EON Live Remix distribution. If you want to update your Remix installation, then update it to 12.04.5. Please look in the following thread: Ubuntu Live Remix DVD now in stock at AmigaKit.
In addition, a new kernel is available for the Live Remix distribution: Ubuntu Live Remix DVD now in stock at AmigaKit.
And there is a new SuperTuxKart package for the Remix distribution: Test version of SuperTuxKart 0.8.1 for the AmigaOne X1000.

I know one guy who actually fell for that update message and wiped out his 12.04.4 a week or so ago! I don't think I'll update any Ubuntu or kernels anymore unless I understand a very good reason to do so.

It based on the kernel version 3.13.0-36.63 by the Canonical Kernel Team.

LibreOffice_4.3.2.2.0 released for the A-EON Live Remix DVD

I have released LibreOffice 4.3.2.2.0 for the A-EON Live Remix DVD. A user asked me, whether it would be possible to install the latest version of LibreOffice on the A-EON Live Remix distribution. The problem is, that LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 needs a lot of new libraries. The libs are too old for LibreOffice 4.3.2.2.0 on our A-EON Live Remix/Lubuntu 12.04.5. This means, the package of the new LibreOffice is very big because it contains a lot of new system libraries. I can say, LibreOffice is a monster. It takes a very long time to compile it. It has many many many dependencies. But it works without any problems on the A-EON Live Remix DVD (live session). I only had to install the Libgraphite2-2.0.0 package.

Download LibreOffice: LibreOffice_4.3.2.2_Linux_PPC.tar.gz

The following command starts LibreOffice:

Please test the new LibreOffice with the A-EON Live Remix DVD.

Hi All,

I have stripped the binaries and libraries in the LibreOffice package for the A-EON Live Remix DVD. The normal unstripped directory has 2.8GB and the stripped directory has 380MB.

Download: LibreOffice_4.3.2.2_stripped_Linux_PPC.tar.gz

Please test the stripped version of LibreOffice.

Just for info: LibreOffice Base needs the package libhsqldb-java. You can install it with the following command:
