Well, why is amigans.net and English Amiga Board much more mature?
I doubt you can stick it to Hyperion posters. They very seldomly post here. And each time they do; they get flamed out of the threads within few hours, not to be seen again for x months. Which usually result in people complaining that Hyperion never interacts with users.
Quite ironic.
(and for the record; Ive found your posts quite levelheaded and to the point) Last edited by Overflow on 26-Oct-2014 at 10:59 PM.

| Mods / sysadmins don't play with my poll at DB level or I will be forced to run the poll on the impartial community site, Amiga.org. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

Mine was just a reaction to the "thread locked" comment. I found it to be quite chilling. Though blunt A1200 is asking a critical question to this community: should it be able to govern itself or should it instead be run as an arm of a business. This is a question of the utmost importance and though he could have phrased it better, it must be asked. _________________ Blog |

Indeed, agree fully.
Hyperion posters should take note of Trevors ability to read the threads, answer in a upbeat manner and then sign off. |

Indeed. Critical questions are important for any forum.
Blalant trolling doesnt help that process tho. This thread is a clear troll bait.
Trevor outlined quite clearly the progress of the AW takeover.
I dont even have an account on Amigans, net or EAB, but I read both forums daily. Their ability to keep the posts mature, to the point while being critical/asking good questions are a wonder to be hold. Last edited by Overflow on 26-Oct-2014 at 11:14 PM.

You don't have an account on any of those forums and they are civil enough... I think I see a red thread in it ? =) |

I fail to get the insinuation here. Staff have never done anything of that sort to polls, and I can't see why it would start now - although to be fair, the poll is rather pointless in the grand scheme of things and was either designed to annoy/antagonise people, or is an attempt at humour, but still not quite hitting the mark._________________ Test sig (new) |

Steve, just because you dont find something funny doesn't mean it isn't. That's a logical failure of induction. Users have legitimate concerns and the Private Eye headline humour is a respectable way to demonstrate it.
Amigaworld has registered users who are far too uptight and always has. |

It also has some immature people who prefer to troll rather than be constructive, and always has. We like to have discussions here above the kindergarten playground level.Last edited by Darrin on 27-Oct-2014 at 09:40 PM.

Yes, and are you accusing me of trolling or are you just making rather an obviously silly point? if you read through the threads the silly name calling kindergarten stiff that goes on is invariably the same uptight people who are not sufficiently articulate to engage in debate without it. The problem is they go frequently go unpunished whereas others do not. It's all about politically what you want to do as a moderator and whether you and your colleagues in the staff forum can agree to stomach the consequences of those who really try to bring the argument down to the level of the gutter. Evidence shows so far based on your intervention here and that of Eric in the other thread is that you employ selective vision.
In your case you are just being insulting as far as I can tell and moderators used to be expected to lead by example. Steve consistently is careful in how he intervenes you might learn a thing or two.
A1200 takes a position contrary to your new owner. How you react to that speaks and will continue to speak volumes about the future of this place. A tip, you aren't making a good show of it so far. Even if you don't find the joke funny, it's clearly a joke so laugh it off and rise above else you are no better than the trolls and the uptight that you are supposed to moderate.
All good things in moderation, including moderation.

I suggest you calm down. Did I mention your name? No. I stated we have people here that like to troll and that's a fact.
If I think you're trolling then I'll be sure to let you know.
As for this "joke" thread and what I think, I'm the guy who dismissed a report on the thread when it was started. I think I have a sense of humour.
