| Hi,
It has been a while since I last discussed the matter of my no-longer-functioning MicroA1. At one stage I even got a spare UBoot-chip from 'Sundown' I think it was to replace the original one, but to no avail. I lost interest a bit in the meantime, but I'm again looking for a way to resurrect that thing again, if only for the nice size and looks of the case I had built it in. Besides that, my entire developement system is on its HD and actually I'm rather filled with ideas for projects to code.
To keep this proza a bit in hand, in short 'm looking for a way to get the venerable old lady (oh, there I go again...) on the move again, by either repairing or replacing the processormodule.
So the questions are: Q1: Are there (working!) processor modules available somewhere, somehow? Q2: Can someone REPAIR a processor module?

My XE was repaired in Finland. I think there are more in other countries or contact Gentle-Eye.
I hope Boogie won't take this wrong. Like an advert.
Now You have to translate Your pages in Portuguese;)

Refresh my memory. What happened to your CPU? I once fractured my G4 after taking it out for a clean. I made a deal with tonyw to buy his G3 module for half of the repair cost. That is, a repair would have cost $500, but I thought this was too much to spend at the time as the hardware was getting old. So I bought his old G3 moduile for $250 and also as it happened put a deposit on the repair thus giving him a G4 upgrade for $250. He got the good end of the deal. Desperate to get a working CPU I knew I had the short end of the stick.
My point is, apart from telling the CPU story for some reason, that the CPU module can be repaired. My G4 was replaced by a new CPU. Or a working G4 at least.
However this was quite a few years ago now so you will need a compatible G3/G4 to replace it with on the board or a source for one.
Would be a good alternate that I thought of years ago is a Mac module converter. Apparently Macs used the same module pinout as ours CPU modules but the pins are wired differently. So an in between converter would be good to salvage MAc PPC CPU modules and adapt them for out boards. Last edited by Hypex on 27-Oct-2014 at 02:01 PM.

Thank you guys! Come to think of it I heard the name of Crisot being mentioned before when I first asked about it some 2 (!) years ago. I'll try and contact him and see what he could do.
