Hi sorry if this seems a silly question but does the new radeon drivers work with the old g4 amiga ones and are there any newer compatable graphics cards

There are no AGP RadeonHD cards that will work with the A1XE's AGP port because of incorrect voltages, you can plug them in but it'll damage the A1 and the card.

If your board hasn't had the "DMA fix" you can can plug a card into of of the 33Mhz PCI slots but not the 66Mhz slot located next to the AGP slot.

I used an X1550 PCI version in my A1XE a few years back and other have successfully tested 2400 and 4350 PCI versions.

PCIe version of various cards have successfully worked with PCI to PCIe adapters on the Sam440 flex so it should be possible to do the same with an A1XE but I don't know if anyone has tried that yet.

To be honest the PCI versions are all pretty week so it's not really worth bothering with them unless you simply want dual displays.

There is one version of a RadeonHD in PCI form, its a 5450 variety. This may well work, but I have not tried it.

Just correced the link .
This is the correct model and cheaper,
The other one used a DMS-59 cable.
