Morning all.

I follow a weekly Electronics Engineering podcast called The Amp Hour. Sometimes they have guests on the show, and this week they managed to get Bil Herd in to talk about life working for Commodore, the projects he worked on, projects that got canned for stupid reasons, funny stuff that happened, regrets over what happened to the Amiga, etc. It was extremely interesting and Bil Herd comes across very well indeed!

Bil Herd wasn't at Commodore during the Amiga days, but his stories are relevant and I'm sure of interest nonetheless.

You have to have some appreciation and understanding of embedded systems and electronics to fully 'get' some of the stories, but others are more general.

Here it is - hope you enjoy.

@BrianHoskins

Quite some interesting info there. But the misspellings of words and names should be fixed.

@Hypex

If you are referring to the one 'l' in Bil, that is how he spells his name himself, believe it or not. If you want to know why, you'll need to listen to the podcast I linked to - he explains exactly where it came from there

No, I'm aware of that one. I meant things like this:

Bil learned to valuable rules while doing repair:

Bil was told about the gig from Hedly Davis who designed the DRAM for the XBOX.

A documentary of the last day before Commodore shut down was Dave Haney's "Death Bed Vigil"

Spot the errors.

@Hypex

That surprises me! Chris Gammell, a co-host on the show, is a bit of a word nerd.

@BrianHoskins

Well, it's always easier to find mistakes in other peoples work rather than in your own. I wonder why that is?

@BrianHoskins

Unfortunately, I started on that page, got to one of the first videos, then ended up watching the Bil, Chuck Peddle and Jeri Ellsworth youtube videos linked from it, and spent the next 3 and a half hours on that
