Here's where the A1200 push into India will have failed:
Petro most likely gave a good sales pitch about video and animation capabilities, the most cost effective machine for one's creativity, etc. As a whole, Indians aren't creative. They're good at following instructions, they hold social order and respect for those above you in high regard.
With the growth of the internet and reduction in prices of UPS devices the PC compatible market exploded and so did internet cafes. Indians, as a whole, are also very pragmatic. Without any nostalgia attached to the Amiga platform they quickly moved over to what is the new standard.

Although your comment is only speculation, I do have to say that it does sound like it could be quite close to how it went. |

wtf? That comes across as incredibly patronising way to describe 1.25 Billion people collectively or individually.
Indian culture is full of creativity, art, literature, science, etc. That might not translate culturally to the point where Western businesses think they can make money out of promoting/reselling it in domestic markets, but that's an entirely different affair._________________ Troll - n., A disenfranchised former potential customer who remains interested enough to stay informed and express critical opinions. opp., the vast majority who voted silently with their feet. |

I found it by spending time on Google.
Amiga Inc. started trial versus Hyperion
