could it be posible to make a way mount this iso file an then istall it over an old installation. or iff not then make it posible to just doble clik the iso fil and then install it from there. with out burn it out on a real dics. i dont have an cd burner no more. so i im hoping to do this,.
format dho : then reset then find out i cant boot into the installation, then say dooouugh. then say hmm then get an idea. put in the orginal os 4.1 installation dics load it into workbenck. then insted of running the cd then just run the iso file install dics. maby you can put an iso mount program in the archive. so its just dobble clik on it when you are loaded in from the os 4.1 install dics..


maby i would like an real dics but if its coast much ekstra then i can live with having the old os 4.1 cd and then just have the rights to download it,i can see if pepole buy an new board an gets a new lincens. i can understand that hyperion wants an nice packet. but i sure would like to get it right away when i read that its ready. lets say its comes 24 it would be sad to wait until next year to get the dics...


so i am all in for an download version.

FE isn't an update like those in the past, those that treat it as an update will get an unbootable system & then claim the install is bad. The changes can not just be copied over, older files are not compatible with new ones.

There will only be a CD option, this is written in stone now & will come with a new serial # for future updates. You're only option is to make backups & prepare a new system partition for a clean install. You have been warned.

Sorry, but this sounds a bit confusing if it's Final. Or does this mean the serial# is meant to apply to 4.2 as well?

Yes it bit confusing, but I try to explain it,

There where many bug fixes for update 6 that you where available from AmigaUpdate download service. The same way there will be bug fixes from AmigaUpdate for AmigaOS4.1 Final.

Yes there might few new feature in as well from AmigaUpdate, but new features comes mostly when new OS versions comes out, so next time there will big new OS features it will be AmigaOS4.2 (SMP / 3D).

NutsAboutAmiga explained it well, its not the normal update we all got use to over the years, it a new OS version & 4.2 is already taken, so we have "Final edition".

There is no pre-order that I know of. there are many systems, each needs its own ISO, this takes a lot of work & pre-testing to get each one right. Some are done, some are still just starting. When all CD versions are ready to sell, you will be told. Xmas would be nice, lets hope it happens.
