A Magazine in the uk is doing an Amiga special book next week! So getting this,

We’re big fans of the Amiga, so we felt it was the perfect time to create an exciting new bookazine.

The Amiga Book is 180 pages of incredible content, featuring some of the best games and developers to ever appear on an Amiga system.

Worms, The Secret Of Monkey Island, Shadow Of The Best, Speedball 2, Another World, The Chaos Engine and Superfrog are just a few of the classic games featured, making it an essential read for those who want to learn the history behind these landmark games.

But that’s not all. To ensure that this book is as good as possible, we’ve commissioned six new articles that have never seen print before. We’ve also updated entries with new information and brand new screenshots (over 250 in fact) to ensure that the production values are as good as possible.

The Amiga Book is £9.99 and will be available to buy from 31st December in all good retailers. You can also buy it directly from the Imagineshop.

Will this be available from Amazon.com in the USA at the same time or soon after it comes out in Europe?

@NomadOfNorad

Thats a good question not too sure, you can order it off https://www.imagineshop.co.uk/bookazines/the-amiga-book.html
Now, apparently I'm hoping my local wh smith will carry it as they do seem to carry more and more of these magazine/book specials.

@amigang

Thanks for the headsup on the book, I subscribe to Retro Gamer but had completely missed this. Ordered mine from the ImagineShop as I needed a new Retro Gamer binder as well.

@amigang

Might get this if their are any in my local Smiths on Saturday (cant get it today).

If not I'll probably mail order it so that I can sit it side by side with the Visual Compendium (when I get that from Kickstarter).

Hopefully we will hear something about Viva Amiga soon as cant wait to watch that.

@Thread

There was no sign of this at the local WHSmiths today sadly. I had a voucher too

@Rob

No, I didn't enquire as I spent the voucher on something that both my wife and I will get use out of (as all good husbands bought a joint voucher should ). However, all the other Retro Gamer publications were there; Retro Gamer current issue and the Retro Gamer annual. I'll probably just wait for the Commodore Amiga: a visual Commpendium now but it's crazy such similar products are out in the same year catering for this small market!

Well I went out yesterday and they did'nt have them In, enquired and the wh smith in crewe store said they were getting 6 delivered on the 2nd, so tomorrow, if I can get out to the shop tomorrow will pick one up and let you guys know if it's any good. But this should mean the mag will be in store to buy, it will be the first time in 20 years nearly that I bought an amiga mag from smith, loved picking up a copy of cu Amiga now and again, had a sub to amiga format. I do miss them old classic magazines.

I was thinking of getting it online but will try to get one in store. To be able to buy an Amiga mag(book) again in WHSmiths would good. :)

@amigang

Made a special trip out today to get my copy of the Amiga book and that dam WHSmith guy lied to me and it wasn't in stock, it is on there file but they cant tell me when or if they will be getting any, I could make a special order, but I told them to forget about it and I've ordered it off the publisher online site today. So this mag may not actually be available in Whsmith, or only the very Big stores, anyway, hopefully I wont have to wait too long and I advise anyone else who want it to order online.

When I finally do get it will let you know if its any good. laters

Kind of cool, but given RetroGamers well earned reputation for inaccuracy and amaturism I think I'll give it a miss. Seems every time I read something from them I walk away discouraged. Spending good money on misinformation doesn't encourage a person to keep spending.

Same, no copies in my local WHSmith either or ASDA. Which is odd, as they both stocked the Retro Gamer C64 book. Does anywhere actually sell this book on the high street?!
