Well had a bit of Amiga day at my house the other day, not only did my copy of OS4.1 Final edition copy arrive (with a few other treats from Amigakit) but also the Amiga Book, so far breezing few it, it seems very Amiga A500 focus and the making off the classic Amiga games, which kinda not that surprising considering its articles from Retro Gamer.

video of it and other treats :)

Still personally not seen it in the shops, I did do a quick ebay search and there are a few "gits" selling them at £20 or more if your desperate and of course there always digital copy.

hope who ever after a copy gets one, best of luck.

Just received my copy from Amazon. A very cool magazine. Reminds me of the old Amiga Format specials.

@-Sam-

Just got mine, too, this week. also via Amazon.

It looks as though they have a contract with Imagine Publishing as the Imagine website showed it as being unavailable when I tried to order directly but Amazon had no problems getting it for me. It came directly from Imagine.

If anyone here lives on or near the Wirral, the WH Smiths in Birkenhead still has 3 copies on their shelf.

Looks like retro gamer knows it's Amiga birthday and are doing a reprint / revised version of there Amiga book for people who missed it first time now your chance, don't think I will get it, the first copy had 180 pages this has 190 so I think it just 10 pages of new stuff but recommend the book it self it was a great read.

@kamelit0

they updated the details and over the last book it look like it has
- Amiga 1200 History
- Amiga 1200 Perfect 10
- Amiga 1200 And The Rest…
- Amiga CD32 History
- Amiga CD32 Perfect 10
- Amiga CD32 And The Rest…
- The Making Of: Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe
- The Big Feature: Resurrecting Putty Squad
- The Making Of: Jet Strike

It also looks like they might have removed (The Big Feature: The Bitmap Brothers) from the mag, kinda of wish they just did Amiga Book2 with all new content, but I guess it not be long enough time for them to have made new Amiga materiel maybe in the future they will.

@Rudei

better late than never :)

late last week, went into smith, forgot about the reprint / revised version and there it was on the shelf, I thought I buy myself as copy to read the new stuff and then might sell it on, so it finally got on the shelf's and got to buy an Amiga mag from smiths.

It looks like the third edition has hit WHSmiths in the UK. I've just picked up one today and there were another two left on the shelf! It clearly says, 'The Amiga Book Third Edition' on the spine of the magbook! Check your local WHSmiths if you've yet to pick up a copy!

... or additionally you can order a copy HERE

Quote:
This new Edition includes new guides to some of the Amiga's biggest games, including Lemmings, Walker, Hired Guns and more.

@BigD

Picked up a copy of the third edition myself too, haven't had time yet to see what's different (doesn't really look any thicker), but does now mean I have a copy of the first edition going spare if anyone wants it or know anyone who wants one.

I really enjoyed the Putty Squad feature and the making of Walker is good too!

@BigD

Just picked up my copy at whsmiths in Wigan. Still a couple of units left.

Odd that they do not have any publicity for the mag. I would not have known about if not reading about it on here.

Hoping it is a true 3rd volume and not just a rehash of volume 2 with a couple of new articles. I just bought it without looking

Update

Its basically the same as volume 2 with a few things changed. Abit disappointed for a tenner to be honest ... but il enjoy reading the new bits and its always nice to see Amiga stuff on the shelf in whsmiths ... takes me back to the 90s
