My fun decision

Hey there, I am suffering from an embarrassment of riches here. I have 2 machines to build with a large assortment of parts to install. The results of a long term of collecting parts. I need some opinions on the best way to proceed.

First the machines, one is a towerized 4000D, the other an A3000T. I am going to build both machines and have a large assortment of parts. The 3000T has all updated chips and 3.1 roms as has the 4000.

I have the following to install in the machines:

Cyberstorm PPC/060 c/w 128M ram and SCSI interface
Warp 040 c/w 128M ram and SCSI interface
Picaaso II video card
Mediator 4000D
Mediator 3000T
2 Radeon 128 PCI video cards
SATA PCI Raid card
CMI873B PCI sound card
Spider USB PCI
ZorRam 256K ram card
10mbs PCI network card
Xsurf network card
4GB Compact flash IDE disk drive
FAST ATA Mk VI Cf/SATA
Video Toaster 4000
Video Toaster Flyer
Amiga OS 4.1Final Classic
Amiga OS 3.9

I am sure I have a couple more but memory is fading...

Whichever system the cyberstorm goes in should be configured with the faster/better cards.

Please do not send offers to buy at this time. Until I get them both running to the best they can be, nothing is for sale.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

@Amiganaut

I guess there's no point in asking if you're feeling lucky, punk?

I think the Mediator 3000T covers the video slots, so if you want to use the PicassoII or the Toaster, those would need to be in the A4000. Then it sort of makes more sense to max out the 3000 for 4.1. In my very humble opinion. Which it usually ain't

This weeks pet peeve:
Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

Sorry you think that way, I have been collecting these parts for years now.

Very lucky, I recently found the 4000, before that there would have been no decision needed.

Thank you, I hadn't considered that. I will have to check that out.

@Amiganaut

given the challenge, i'd probably go for:

A3000T, CSPPC, Mediator (radeon gfx, audio, network)
A4000, Warpengine, Mediator (radeon gfx, audio, network, spider)

use the scsi buses rather than anything else, along with a-card scsi>sata adapters.

sell the rest, buy a deneb for usb on the a3000t.

(slight caveat: the toasters might be useful to you; not so much here in europe where they're not compatible with the standard pal formats.)

@Boot_WB

On the A4000 you could later upgrade the WarpEngine to an 060 which I am Currently working on.
