| @klx300r ENVARC:Cherry_Darling/Ace_Of_Hearts
You'll also find the settings of our other games in that Cherry_Darling folder. There just was a discussion on os4welt about that topic where to store such settings files etc. Although an ENVARC: subfolder seems to be the "OS-conform" way right now there are apparently lots of people who prefer PROGDIR: (or a PROGDIR subfolder). I don't know, I think both variants have pros and cons. Still unsure if I'm going to change it for our games. _________________ AmigaOS 4.1 FE (sam460ex Radeon 9200 / RadeonHD), MorphOS 3.8 (PowerMac G4 733MHz Radeon 9000), AROS (x86), A1200 (060 80MHz Indivision MK2), A500, A600, CDTV Wings Remastered Development Diary |

For games I would prefer somewhere in PROGDIR. It makes easier to copy game and its settings to your other computers. And if you have many local players it's easier to have one copy of the game for each player with their own settings. Now we have to change online hiscore information with your games depending who is playing, for example.
At least if game is more than just one exe. If it has data files which need to be in certain place, why not have settings with it too. But if it'd be only one exe which can be moved freely, then envarc: could be more sensible.
BTW. Ace of Hears for the game of the year! ;) Last edited by jPV on 30-Jan-2015 at 10:57 AM.

Yes, that's a good point. Actually a very good point. The first point I hear that clearly adds real value compared to ENVARC. Looks like you just convinced me

I don't know how this game's structure is organized (sorry, it's in my to-buy-support list but i buy things depending on money spares) but instead of having N copies of game and data, i'd prefer having either a subdrawer of ENVARC:Cherry_Darling/Ace_Of_Hearts for every user or different files named after the user.
