Hi everyone.
I recently developed an outline for a story which is inspired by the Amiga. I finally got around to writing some of it to see how it would feel as prose. Here is some of it and I'd like to know from the community if this is something y'all would continue reading.

I don't feel right cross posting the same body of the story so you can read it over at Amiga.org - Forum Link

If you don't have an Amiga.org account you can take the poll here.

Since we're going back to the 80's, I'll just say it: gag me with a spoon.

Your writing is not bad, the problem is the subject: it's dead common and trite. Perhaps you should give some other genre a try, such as sci-fi or fantasy? Anything but silly people living silly lives. I get enough of that in real life.

I hope me being honest is not too discouraging, because I think you have potential as a writer.

@bison

Not discouraging at all. Honesty is the best policy.
Sci-Fi and fantasy are my favourite genre and I have several sci-fi outlines I've been fleshing out over the past few years but this thing kind of just hit me and I wondered what it looked like written down.

Just wanted to hit the keyboard to see how things could be shaped around a familiar theme. Thanks for the feedback.

Tried reading it when you first posted it but couldn't be bothered past the first couple of paragraphs. Had another look at it today and could stop myself from just skimming over it, found nothing to hold my interest.

I think sci-fi is a great place to start. You might also consider writing Tolkien fan fiction -- a lot of people read that, so you would probably get a lot of feedback.
