Hi,

I finally decided to post my humble but very powerful Amiga 1200 Classic tower specs and pics. I have built this system up over many years. So here it is in all it's glory...

Amiga 1200 Tower Classic:

Amiga 1200 mainboard Rev 1D3 with 3.1 Roms
Amiga OS 3.9 and over 20 years of collected software
Phase 5 Blizzard PPC 603e+ @ 240 MHz / 68060 @66 MHz
256 MB Fast Ram (2 x 128 MB)
Elbox Mediator 1200TX
Elbox FastATA MK IV
Voodoo 3 16MB Graphics PCI card
10/100Mb Network PCI card (Realtek 8139D)
Sound Blaster 128 16Bit PCI sound card
Spider USB 2.0 PCI card
2 x Seagate 160 GB HDD (of which very little is used :)
Pioneer DVD Read/Writer
1.76 HD Floppy Drive
PS/2 Keyboard Adapter

I run most screens in 1920x1080 in 16 bit. It runs well, faster than you would think and definitely faster than AGA.

The tower was bought from Amigakit over 3 years ago, now discontinued. I have no idea what model it is :)

You can view my humble Amiga Classic here:

(Some of you may have noticed my Sam 460ex quietly sitting on the top shelf, it too, is awesome)

@Epsilon

Thanks and yes my PC case is very beefy. It's the Cool Master Cosmos II. You can pretty much install anything in it. Comes in handy for LARGE graphics cards.

@Drewlio77

I am a little jealous, that's an awesome set-up.

Ive mentioned it a few times in other threads like this, but I REALLY do need to get my system back up and running and see what further upgrades I can cram into it.

Cool setup! Nice!
I would be glad if the machine would be mine! :)

A qestion!

Why Voodoo graphics card?

Is PCI Radeon not better?

I ask it because I want to build now a ELBOX A4000 Mirage tower. OS3.9 and OS 4.1FE with Radeon 9250 / 256MB (Elbox).

@klx300r

What we do to keep our Classic Amigas alive. It is truly a labor of love. Though I do like my Sam 460ex with OS 4.1, the Classics is what started it all :)

@AmigaMania

I have tried a Radeon 9250, the overall performance I get with the Voodoo 3 is better. Perhaps this is due to a more mature driver. Plus Warp3D works with the Voodoo 3, not so well with the Radeon.

Looks in good condition, the tower is an EZ Tower Z4 (Eyetech) I used to have, remember the tower being quite nice but the Eyetech Z4 busboard being a bit of a nightmare. I got a Mediator later, like yours, which I found a much nicer and cheaper way of expanding the A1200.

@dan.hutch

Ya, the Mediator busboard is easily installed and setup. Almost seems like a natural addition to the system.
