I use both and as you already know I provided Jason with many items he needed for AROS 68K. _________________ Support AROS sponsor a developer.

Nah I doubt that is the case. If it was X86 people like me wouldn't have supported the 68K bounty and developers before 68K people even noticed AROS existed. :P

lets not start a competition here. everybody may choose what he prefers and i doubt we will ever have any dependable numbers..
besides, this is a thread about weekly progress on aros, lets not derail it. Last edited by wawa on 05-Jan-2016 at 01:03 PM.

That's not AROS and this is a AROS thread on a Forum called 'AROS Software', AROS is only poorly supported on Sam460 and less than a 2nd class citizen.

I don't understand why would you run AROS on native AmigaOS 4.1 capable SAM 460 hardware._________________ Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Amiga 1200 (Rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32lite/RPi 4B 4GB/Emu68) Amiga 500 (Rev 6A, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 3a/Emu68) |

68K apps should be treated as second class citizens and sandboxed accordingly. If the platforms are to advance we need to place old applications in a nice secure sandbox for them to play in. :P

For 68K apps, lite sandboxed layer is fine while emulating the entire machine is something else. _________________ Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Amiga 1200 (Rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32lite/RPi 4B 4GB/Emu68) Amiga 500 (Rev 6A, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 3a/Emu68) |

imho aros is very easy to set up. you can simply boot from iso or copy the content to a hd and have practically all functionality at hand. you may need to make some adjustments with the drivers when natively on x86, i dont have so much experience with this platform as i use only linux hosted for testing. but aros is definitely easier to set up than windows, linux, bsd, os4, probably mac os and even the genuine amiga os as soon as 060 accelerators are involved. |

I'am using winuae. Did follow the installation guide on aros site but think that guide is very old since many tips is wrong.
But love to have a iso so I can burn to a iso would be much easier. |

few details may be wrong, but as it changes i didnt update it i should look to it perhaps. but running aros on uae is very, very easy. as i said you need to set rom and ext paths of your configuration to the respective images to be found on iso in boot/amiga dir.
point remains that with a real amiga you need to include ArosBootStrap command in the first line of your s-s, followed by path to your kickstart file, you can take the whole one, not the splitted version for uae. so effectively out of the top of my head it should look like ArosBootStrap :boot/amiga/aros.hunk.gz
if it works and you have an accelerator on your system, i bet you will need it, you can add setpatch afterwards.
and if you have an rtg card you need p96 .card and .chip drivers for it, put it somewhere on your drive, preferably where your rom is, and add both with full paths in the initial line behind arosbootstrap. I would like to thank Deadwood for this. Fixed listtree.mcc finally made OWB run flawlessly on youtube.com. Before this bugfix, it happily crashed every time for me. |
