Hi,

im just getting into an amiga 500. ive got the chunky video adaptor plugged into the back of my amiga, going to a modern flatscreen t using a scart adaptor in the back of it.

Is there anyway of getting anything else to increase the resolution a bit,
its a bit ' arcade gamish '

or is that it ?

Im sure ie seen scrren shots on the internet that look high definition,

like is there a hdmi lead adaptor or something,

Thanks,

( or is there pecial amiga monitors ) etc

@francis.smudge

you can use highres interlace mode for your workbench if you have enough chipram, but on an ocs/ecs machine like an a500 it will be restricted to, say, like two colors, one plane monochrome display afair. with a higher model or an expanded machine beginning with a 68020 cpu you can utilize an rtg card. no such consumer device for an a500 as far as i know, except one user project in progress.

A500 supports these resolutions (PAL version):
320x256 32 or 64 (EHB) or 4096 colours
320x512i 32 or 64 (EHB) or 4096 colours (flickers)
640x256 16 colours
640x512 16 colours (flickers)
1024x1024 4 shades of gray (requires rare A2024 monitor)

(nearly all resolutions can be a little bit bigger with Overscan - eg 724x566)
