I have installed the live remix on my X1000. It is VERY slow and I see that it is only 32bit? I don't get that the cpu is a 64bit cpu in the X1000. The windows move in slow motion the bigger the window the slower they move. Using System Testing app it tells me there are bad memory problems and the memory test failed every time I run it. I don't see this with AOS4.1 FE at all. The amiga OS on this X1000 is faster with just one core working. I have had Ubuntu on a few different computers. I have a 10 years old laptop that is and was in the day a real pig and that is about as fast as it is on my new X1000. I have a SSD just for Ubuntu and it is slower opening programs than my i3 dell laptop with a 5000rpm 2.5 hard drive. This makes no sense. I am glad I did not buy this computer to run Ubuntu. This is just for Amiga OS but I thought I would play. That is over. I find strange PPC updates that will not update and other problems. This is an eye opener. I have a big linux friend who installed REXX and ran a REXX clause test and just looked at me and said wow this thing sucks, I have to say all this does not make me happy.

My question is do you know of a memory testing program for Amiga OS I can run? The bad memory reports has me concerned. Maybe I do have a memory problem that is to blame and I would like to find out and fix this if that is the bad actor or maybe something other is wrong. something is wrong.

I will say the Ztools sysmoniter shows it just as fast as it should be however. Anyway thanks for any help or advice.

@apsturk

what video board you have on your x1000 ?

check with this line : open a console and write

sudo dmesg | grep radeon

and

sudo dmesg | grep drm

probably there is a miss configuration of video driver.

@apsturk

There is no need to post a screenshot. Just copy and paste the console output into your post.

Also check your X1000 is running at full speed by typing in a console...
cat /proc/cpuinfo

You should see lines reporting...
clock : 1800.000000MHz

@apsturk

If it shows 32-bit it may be a a 32-bit kernel. You can always update the kernel. Seeems to be a X1000 kernel update almost everyday here.

But for memory:
http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=utility/hardware/memtester.lzx

BTW is the kernel slow booting off the SSD as well? There may be soem conflict with the SATA mode. Some machines have problems with SSD, the drive speed had to be lowered, IIRC.

@apsturk

Have you already set up the cpu speed in CFE?

set pmu -astate=A4

If not then you have only 500MHz.

The A-EON Live Remix DVD has a 64-bit Ubuntu LTS kernel and a 32-bit userland.
