@tlosm

Okay thanks. Will submit.

My system was a recent install. In fact it was from a new OSX install where I had started transferring files and building it up then the HD went catastrophic. So I Time Machined it to another laptop. Only way I could recover without error windows making a dead stop.

Anyway I did a permission fix just in case. Got some things fixed. Then tested FS-UAE and it was constantly thinking for 5 minutes so force quit it. But I did notice one thing while reading AW threads and that is you said qemu needs to be installed with "sudo port install qemu". Is this still needed? I finally updated my XCode so MacPorts now works but it started downloading all these sources and compiling them. I want a working binary, not an hour compiling source file!

@tlosm

Well I got qemu instlalled now but it compile x86 version!

This would be easier if I had an actual real Amiga with a PPC card. I could then just grab the HDD image and go for my life.

Will test again tonight.

Well almost.

The only Amiga PPC machine I have is an AmigaOne.

I got this from the log:
resolve_path (empty string)
resolve_controller: "ide0" not known

Looks like it doesn't like this line:
hard_drive_0_controller = ide0

Anyway reviewing options.

Hello everyone. Has anyone got this working on a PowerBook G4? I haven't yet. I either get an Amiga crash or emulator crash. Having a stable build would help. Perhaps we should compare files and versions.

Think i tried all that, will try that specifically tho. Thanks. The problems began with Debian Jessie.. With Squeeze i had decent acceleration, not optimal, but working, problem is that when i bring up the system with acceleration , likely due to an endian issue, it will stick and freeze in a _very_ bad way, if left unattended, it wont even power back on for a while! Not even if i reset the PMU with holding down the power button .. .

ah... the new release of xorg are crashing with ppc.
many ppl install jessie, ubuntu mate / lubuntu 15.x and downgrade the xorg with 1.6 version
this issue is present in all machine except the macmini g4 where xorg work but gave some wrong colors. i think this is issue is present because the devs are using qemu for build the distro for ppc and not the real hardware...
i make all test and with qemu ppc everything work... with qemu ppc kvm issue come too like on the host.

From what I remember the problems came along with the transition to KMS from UMS
People have been reporting the problem for years... Yet it is simply not solved.....

Sure it might work if you downgrade the kernel, mesa, and xorg, but a shitload of packages depend upon the updated packages, like sdl2.

I don't have SDL2. on my system. I only have SDL.framework.

I checked the executable and there are SDL2 and OpenAL binaries in Frameworks. But they lack the dylib extension the others have. Renaming didn't help. The SDL2 is also a uni binary with only PPC. Something has gone wrong building it.

I tried to download MAME but it won't let me download unless I upgrade to an account. I'm just used to just clicking and downloading no fuss.

@tlosm

Then how come it can't be included in the app bundle? OSX apps appear to be like AmigaOS apps where resources like libraries can be included with the program with folders dedicated to holding them. If they must be installed separately then it's time to get out XCode and build an installer.

OTOH, you can also use the OSX trick of folder links. So you can include all the files needed and folder links to where the system files need to go. Seemingly random system files requiring accounts across several different websites is a tad level lower than OSX users expect. In fact it looks worse the madness of installing an Amiga program by finding all the files needed.
