@tonyw
if i be honest, i did not start a try to implement this feature, because the priority is to correct bugs and generate a working printing function.
if you want try it, feel free to do so and sent me the changed src-files to put in the beta6.

@turbo4.1

Being able to export a sheet as a PDF would be useful. I currently use gcp.device to print via Google Cloud Print which works well and this has a save to Google Drive option but would be nice to have some direct PDF function in ignition.

Would also be nice to be able to be put an image in a spreadhseet. Perhaps this sounds odd, but in my case would be nice to put the business logo at the top of the invoice.

Thanks!

I am now working in beta7 and maybe i make a printing to PDF possible.

The other Point, to include a picture, i think is possible now. Use the function object->Insert and select in the Window the Item picture. Then Open a frame with the mouse, click in the frame and choose a picture.
PNG and JPEG musst Work. Is this a solution vor the image-problem?

@turbo4.1

Nice work!

I finally got around to checking out this program, and it looks very functional and feature-rich.

I have started creating a Danish translation; seems I have to translate not only the catalog (got the .cd from SF), but also the functions file. And then I have to change all the menu definitions and toolbar texts etc. through the preferences editor and save a Danish version of the prefs, is that correct? Anything else?

Another couple of questions: Is it possible to save the window size and position when running om WB? I can't seem to find any way to do this. I prefer not covering up all of my WB with one window.

I have defined a new date format corresponding to the most common Danish date format. Is there a way to make a specific date format the default one?

Oh, and some of the subwindows in the prefs are really too small, e.g. the Display one; the texts Too bar and Formula bar run into each other (and in Danish they even overlap with around five or six letters). I assume this is partly because Ignition hasn't yet been converted to ReAction, but still, a sizing gadget would be handy there.

Best regards,

Niels

@nbache
thank you for testing/using ignitionOS4.

yes, you are right. this three places (prefs (menue/pictogram toolbar), function-table and catalog) must be changed for a full translated ignition. at the moment i "develop" a new toolbar and menue-structure for beta7, so it will be good if you also use this new structure. at the moment my new config is only in german, but if you want to take a look on it, contact me with email.

the window size is saved, when you set the option "Save windowsize" in the dialog object->document. if you set this option, also the position is saved . you must set this for every document.

the standard format for dates is set in prefs->Formats (i do not have amiga in reach to check it, so maybe the dialog-names are not excact ). there you can also set a prio, which format is used first (negativ values have higher priority).

yes, you are right. the sizes of some prefs-windows are to small. i try to set a sizing-gadget on this windows and if it works it will appear in beta7.

i hope this informations help you.

@turbo4.1

Excellent, thanks for the responses.

I'll contact you directly for a look at the next beta.

If I may wish, it would be nice to be able to set a default window size and position globally.

While you're looking at the prefs window sizes, maybe the keyboard prefs window could be a bit wider by default. It does have a sizing gadget, but it still comes up too narrow after a new start.

The priority of formats works fine, I just hadn't found out that this was what it was for. Thanks for explaining.

Best regards,

Niels

In case anybody is wondering, I have been creating a Danish translation/version (in useful dialog with turbo4.1, thank you!), which is nearing completion (in final review).

In addition to what we mentioned above, also the *.*descr files in the add-ons directory need to have text added in your language (some just a line, some more).

Best regards,

Niels

a new version of the ods addon for ignitionOS4 is released in aminet and os4depot.
this version is optimized in code and loads ods-files faster in some cases.
also a few errors are corrected and some function are now converted with this release.
detailed description you find in the readme-file of the v0.32 archive.

it would be very interesting for me, to get information about loading time from files with the new and the old version.
please let me also know, if you find errors.

@turbo4.1

Thank you for updating the add-on, really appreciated!

BTW, would it be possible to make the menu strings consistent? At the moment most strings begin with a lower-case letter (which is pretty non-standard IMHO) while others begin with an upper-case letter. Fixing this will make the GUI look a bit more polished.

@Trixie

Menus are user settable/definable AFAIK, go to prefs window, then click on MENU item/option and there "fix"/change/add/... all the strings you want

a real good news for all the users of ignitionOS4 on post #100.

the new version is released on sourceforge, it is now ignitionOS4 V1.00.
the beta status is gone, because many changes are made and new functions added. i think there are still errors in the program and maybe some grim's waiting to appear, but i think it is stable enough to lose the beta state.
a special thank to javier who generates a first reaction version of ignition!

although a big "thank you" to all supporters, testers, translators and users who give replies and some friendly post's/email's from all over the world

enjoy the new release!
