| You have to check this! Our [Serbian] developers invested over 10 million $ into developing this! Everything is cloud-oriented and for $10 per month you are able to use software in browser!
I've checked Blender - I think it works faster than on Amigax1000!!!
Maybe this is the solution for Amiga?
Check out! I was very happy to test web site!

Dude, running anything faster than AmigaOne X1000 is hardly impressive, and running windows software in the cloud through a browser is "the solution" for Amiga how? _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Nice site but.. 10$ per month so after about a year I can get a pecee to run those apps natively and probably quicker. Also Amiga browser as a launcher for pecee applications - if you find it as a solution for Amiga then we have much different Amiga "definitions"... |

And you still need something to use it.It doesn't run on air from the clouds and sky. |

Actually pretty cool. Seems you can get charged for what you use too. The technique is like VNC where you receive a video stream (that is raw graphics) and input events are sent to the server. But all in the browser through a HTML5 video stream.
Considering Odyssey's video player isn't the most optimized, or the most stable in the world, I wonder how well it would actually work for us. Odyssey's video player must be trashing memory and always makes the system unstable after it has been used. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

| @kolla : ) See... 10$/month vs. one time fee ; ) My offer is better and technically the same.. except there will be a Client and Apps will run in native window Managers. (not the browser)
really 10Mio Investment? Why didn't they just a inquiry on existing things?
Seems my idea isn't that strange to others as you always try to tell me : )

Anyway , although I kinda like FriendOS I still don't quite understand what does it do and how. Will it have some software with it and can it be installed on top of those supported systems apart from Cloud advantage ?
And if any of those Cloud OSed actually get popularity won't Google or Apple make their own with better offer ?

| I think until the Amiga gets more native apps, I think the cloud /internet is away around most of the missing software or limitation of our fav platform. it pains me to say it but I do use Google Docs as my go to doc program on the Amiga (unless it got loads of personal bank details etc) as it runs fast enough on my X1000, it offers a fair amount of features and I know I will be able to access it and work on it later on my PC as and when I need to.
Native Html5 apps interest me more than VPN and when you look at whats out there it is pretty impressive what you can do as long as you have a browser. https://www.picozu.com/editor/ - a full photoshop editor fully works in Odyssey (although a little slow it show what can be done as just one of many examples. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

| @blizz1220 Sure apple will do and tell us again that they invented it : ) I plan to bring it as freebee for AEROS and for a onetime lifetime Amiga Club Membership fee to AmigaOS... So without the Need to make a living from it or pay some Investors..
@amigang yep, cloud stuff and HTML5 will bring Amigans on par with Mainstream if we Focus on the right stuff : ) Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 25-Jun-2015 at 10:26 AM. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 25-Jun-2015 at 10:24 AM.

Yes , I can see the cool factor of doing super fast rendering on poor little Raspberry Pi
Best of luck. |

Imagine the Apache web server tuned for high performance applications - with it's own desktop environment as both a space to work, and as a space to configure your server. No more editing text based config files. I posted a more detailed description in a new post - FriendUP is different for different people. For some, it will just be a file sharing app - for some, it will be their default desktop environment (in a BSD or Linux distribution). For some, it will be a way to access free CPU cycles for Blender renders.
Google and Apple might make something that's even better. A lot of people are developing new cloud / node network technology right now. The time is right for it.
We will on the other hand focus on what we're doing, there's not one ring to rule them all - the internet has proved this. It's accessible to anyone, on any platform. That's why we realized that the web was the ultimate "cross platform target". So we built an OS around that. This OS can run apps from anywhere online - or just from your local computer. The server / kernel can communicate with with other Friend Core servers, and access their resources too - or you can install everything on your laptop and cut the cord.
It will take some time for some people, depending on their background, to understand the whole concept. But once you do, you realize that this is powerful stuff, and fun too!

Now I have a better idea , thank you for explaining.
I like the look and the protect privacy idea.I guess I was thinking too much inside the box.
Best of luck to you too , I guess there will be a lot of these things around , it would be nice if any of them that take anything from amiga legacy get any kind of market share or popularity. |

| @blizz1220 Not only Pi ; ) AmigaOS as well All small bits will come together in AmigaNX ... a Group of HW and Software products to bring Amiga on mainstream niveau. That it is my Long time Project.. first small things will appear in a few weeks.
Of course wherever it makes sense i will include others tech as well.. so I am looking at friendup..

| The solution for amiga?
If the amiga need a "solution" internet connection and a browser is not the best one.
PS: The only one "solution" for amiga is to clone ECS and AGA machines on FPGA or whatever.

| @KimmoK thanks.. it is a place holder and reminder for me : p My Vision is to have a HW- Independent solution. (The last Ares device will be a Linux based phone running AEROS). Local stuff will work platform-independent (the cloud is just another platform for me and a sort of virtual turbocard).
In short I will open a pre-sale for AmiCloud (means there will be a limited number of free Slots during the beta time (100users per target platform) - as a thank you I will double the free storage size for beta testers).
AEROS Plus/Premium users will become everything for free. Broadway users can buy a "golden ticket" to activate every single bit we are working on. Everyone else will get it for 5€.
indieGO!-Apps will run everywhere, including AmigaOS. I know it is confusing right now..... will Change when it is available.
so we are busy. AmiCloud is in Focus since a few month but ready soon. In parallel Broadway and AEROS get a new UI (mobile phone). Everything will be made also available for AmigaOS.

Can we use to run FireFox with flash support?
Also, by "Our" developers, are they then Amiga developers? |
