With the next client we will raise the free storage to 2gb per user.
Today we rolled out the image preview so you can embed images in your websites and forums ..
So if you share a picture, the url will point straight to it and you can use the url to embed it on websites..

This was the last feature I used Dropbox for.
During the week we will also rename the public files to the original filename.

Fabio will also finish the updated client.

One negative news:
I will raise the price from 5€ to 10€ in December. Still cheap imho

Good news:
At the beginning I thought allowing subfolders to be synced should be a feature for the "pro version"... We will add this to the basic version as well in the update after this one : )

Thank to the early adopters for fueling the engine ; )

If you need support or in case you have feature ideas feel free to use

@zzd10h
Thank you, I am glad if you are happy : )
I am enjoying AmiCloud. Has more charm than dropbox.

Next year we will start with a solution for IOS and Android and the Premium version.
I had an idea about a "gift-box" where we can reward pro-users from time to time with full versions of our other software products form indieGO!- Appstore..

Also we will raise storage a little bit.

Daniel Müßener will work on the OS4 ssl Hollywood plugin next year. So far we have it for Windows. This will boost Hollywood a bit as well.

Ideas are there.. it is only a matter of time and resources..

Somewhere I have read questions about where files are stored..
They are stored in a data center located in Germany
The servers are managed which means that I pay the data center to take care 24/7 about hardware faults and other things.

While i am a single person, I am doing things officially in Germany since 2009, paying taxes and whatever.

So you can't compare me to 3rd world developer doing things from the catacombs.
I have to take care about legal aspects as everyone else.

The only difference to big companies:
We are 3 guys
we pay a data-center to take care about hw faults
So we have no overhead like big companies
This will make us less expensive in the long run.
Oh and we have the enthusiasm bonus which will make us even better : )

And even me would not store sensible data on any store.
All the big ones have been hacked multiple times.. (More for credit card data than stored files)

So if you need storage to share files with the public... And without traffic limit (non of the wonderful big and so secure companies offer this) amicloud is for you.

Did you know that M$ and Dropbox let scan your files by 3rd parties? We don't.

@phoenixkonsole

Thank you for answering in these questions,

I asked them, because the things Dropbox and others do like that scanning, like you point out.

Local encryption of the files, something like the Powerpacker did decades ago is not strong enough?

@bennymee

Powerpacker compressed files it did not encrypt the files.

I assume every old archive format is secure by obscurity : )
You can also use password protected archives to hide files.

On the servers files are not named and stored as on your hard drives..
They are splittet in stripes and named in glyphes... So even if someone of us accidently looks at files we would not understand on what we are looking.

One exception:
If someone reports a public share (because of inappropriate content) we can see and check it manually.

Hi guys,
with 2.5GB storage (with no monthly fee) we have surpassed Dropbox already : )
On first of march we will raise the storage for beta testers to 5GB.
Why? Because we can : p

@noXLar
You can buy it on www.ares-shop.de but you will still need a indieGO-id and to download it from the appstore.

The appstore is also available for Windows:
http://aros-broadway.de/indiego/styled-25/index.html

At a later Point we will offer direct Downloads of the binaries and Registration with the amicloud Client itself.

@phoenixkonsole

looking great! So cool to sync files/folders with my Amigas & various PC's!

to those that are crying about 'security' I say anyone who is daft enough to store any confidential/sensitive information on ANY so called 'cloud service' should just close their eyes/ears from reality and sing the ignorance is bliss song

@klx300r
This is true : )
The big feature is indeed to "share" files with others or embed images on websites/fora. And those are files you would make public anyway.

@phoenixkonsole

Now that planar support is out for Hollywood can we expect a non-RTG client for AmiCloud soon?
