| I am puzzled about how much effort will take an Amiga APP Launcher to make AmigaOS 3.x, 4.x (and in the future maybe AROS and MorphOS) to make, I said, the OS usable without mouse and/or stylus on UAE and WINUAE for mobile/Tablet devices.
It should do trivia tasks such as opening programs by tapping on icons, and recognize it is running on a fixed resolution screen and force software to run in it.
Is it a trivia task effort or does it need of a skilled team of developers working tirelessly for months? Last edited by Raffaele on 05-Jul-2015 at 10:23 AM. Last edited by Raffaele on 05-Jul-2015 at 10:20 AM. Last edited by Raffaele on 05-Jul-2015 at 10:20 AM.

A friend of mine is using a program to piloting Mobile interfaces on PC screen using PC mouse and keyboard, could it be a quick solution to bypass problem? _________________ "When the Amiga came out, everyone [at Apple] was scared as hell." Translate gestures to mouse input seems to me a very tedious software development as WinUAE already recognizes graphic tablets such as Wacom and allow it run natively on Amiga screen. A graphic tablet system is very close working with a mobile device gesture system (they shared most in common).
It needs only a little effort to make WinUAE graphic tablet subsystem being adapted to E-UAE and make it running on any mobile IMHO.
On the other hand translate mouse input to gesture is necessary if anyone needs to run natively AmigaOS on mobile devices. But until there is no any native ARM AmigaOS it is unuseful IMHO (again)...

| @Raffaele Yep UAE on androit is fine. I am using it (x11sdl) for aros hosted. My wish is to have a convergence system. (I don't use aros for android, instead I use aros for Linux on android. If I am underway I use a android style ui and when I plug it in the docking station it switches to desktop mode and I can control with mouse and keyboard. Based on Debian-kit is allows to do phone calls and so on.
So I am curious how well those commodore branded mobiles will be ; ) _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Appstore - AmiWallet - VAN lossless video codec - AMC Amiga media Center -KrypUnite - LibertyNet - MinX - amigaNX |

I found too much difficult using my Samsung SII due to first signs of presbyopia (I'm getting old thehehe )...
So I decided to buy a 9,7 inches Phone/Tablet Teclast X98 a chinese brand sporting both Android and Windows 8.1 on the same hardware.
Bigger screen (and IPS Retina), lesser problems of eyestrain..
As long this Teclast tablet features Windows too, and has a quad core Intel Bay Trail CPU clocked at 2.16 GHz, then it should run WinUAE like a charm.
So then I got curious about any existing APP launcher for our platform.
[And perhaps look on the news about Commodore branded Android devices. They are a pretty cute curiosity...]

I used my CD32/SX32 with OS3.9 for years with only mouse input, with a software keyboard (aminet has many) and a commodity (Can't remember the name) that let me configure mouse gestures as shortcuts to run commands (in other words, do anything).
In my view, Amiga is pretty much ready to go for tablet/phone as far as user interface is concerned, the rest though... shivers.
Edit: I believe what I used may have been Stroke: http://aminet.net/package/util/cdity/Stroke Last edited by kolla on 05-Jul-2015 at 05:22 PM.

Not quite what we need for, but sure a good starting point.
If source code is provided with stroke software lha archive, then its features could be expanded and extended from mouse gestures to include finger gestures.

Yes, exactly, not that different really. It's more about having access to the hardware, to support multi touch (for pinching etc). _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |
