| I have a uA1c with OS 4.1 Final on it. This machine also has a Catweasel floppy disk controller and disk drive on it. I don't use the floppy that frequently. It seems that ever since I installed 4.1 FInal on this machine that I am now unable to transfer double density floppies between my uA1c and any of my classic Amigas. I can format, write, and read a floppy on my uA1c, but then when I take the floppy over to one of my classic Amigas, it says the the disk is unreadable. In a similar way when I format, write, and then read a floppy on one of my classic Amigas, the floppy is unreadable on my uA1c. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks.

If it worked before the only thing i could think of is that you are, for some reason, using the wrong mount file for the DD disks (btw, are we talking simple 880 KB or 1760 KB -HD- disks)?
My catweasel DF0 entry looks like this.
Quote:
/* multidisk filesystem entry * * This mounts a logical device on catweasel unit 0 for reading and * writing Amiga DD Disks. Create mountlists for other units * by changing the number behind 'UNIT = ' to 0, 1, 2 or 3. */
Device = catweasel.device Unit = 0 Flags = 0 /* format #0 = Amiga DD */ Surfaces = 2 BlocksPerTrack = 11 Reserved = 2 mask = 0x7ffffffc MaxTransfer = 0x00200000 Interleave = 0 LowCyl = 0 HighCyl = 79 Buffers = 5 BufMemType = 1 StackSize = 4096 Priority = 5 GlobVec = -1 ACTIVATE = 1
|
Also make sure that there aren't any other mount files accessing unit 0 of floppy device.
This is a shot in the dark as i can't cross check with classic hardware.Last edited by Raziel on 12-Jul-2015 at 09:49 AM.

I compared your mountlist to mine and they are identical. I am talking about a standard double density floppy and not the high density version. Thanks for the advice though.

Long time since i answered, sorry.
I know that a similar problem exists when using pc/windows formatted drives on the catweasel (not vice-versa though iirc)
That, although, worked before. I have sent some information about this behaviour (pc/windows only) to Ian and he promised to look at it...if time allows.
You might want to send your findings to him aswell |
