| Ok we our half way through September now. Where is the new X5000 will it see 2015 or will it be late and go into 2016?
Don't like it when Amiga news goes quiet. Last edited by g01df1sh on 17-Sep-2015 at 08:40 AM.

Beta testers have had it for some time now, so maybe it isn't that far away.
Not sure I will get one though, since I have an X1000, which seems to be pretty equal in performance, especially when including Altivec... _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Same position really, got an X1000 so will likely do for me. I think its more for people with the older eyetech boards and Sam440 who haven't upgraded and of course any classic guys they can tempt. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

Pretty sure Trevor said that in his presentation too.
The X5000 on display at 30UK seemed pretty much ready to go so I think the they're probably focussing on getting boards out to dealers and system built ready to ship when they launch. |

| I am planning to buy a X5000 but I don't know if I have saved up enough money. It would be good to get information on what it will cost. What damage can be done to say how much money it will cost prior to it's release?

At Amiga30 Solie stated that the team's priority is to port 4.1 FE to the X5000 (Cyrus), so the delay could have something to do with that.

I agree, it would be nice to know the cost of the Cyrus+ boards. I'm hoping to purchase an X5000/40, so I hope that its availability is not TOO far after the release of the X5000/20 ?

If I recall...Trevor has said...that the x5xxx would be approx the same cost of the x1000???
So, just budget there, (either the x1000 or x5000) and cover all bases (grin)

Really? I heard that X5000 should be cheaper than X1000. Partly due to the a lot cheaper processor but also because they have a more efficient manufacturing process now. Last edited by Niolator on 18-Sep-2015 at 08:28 PM.

I would think the increased costs of development & labor would negate the savings from parts over time. A sad fact of life. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

Given the cost of the PA6T, it was assumed it would be cheaper by a small amount. I have no idea what the cost will be, I'm happy with my x1000.

Didn't people say that AmigaOne X5000 would be released "by the end of September"? In that case it would at least be good with some kind of status update now. |
