Banned on amiga.org

So, back in May a moderator felt I was being insulting when I told someone to "stop talking out of your ass", and I was banned for a month. No big deal. Yet here I am and it is September and I am still banned. "Date the ban will be lifted: 07-03-2015, 06:00 PM" it says when I log on, which is a long time ago now. I tried to contact people there, but A-EON is an empty house, just like when I tried to contact them regarding the rather broken DNS setup for amigaworld.net. I asked around, and I am not the only one, people are creating new users because old ones are banned. I dont want a new user, I want my old one unbanned, I want to have access to my old messages etc.

So - what to do with amiga.org? What are A-EON doing with these two sites, they seems to be just floating around technically.

@kolla

At the risk of stating the obvious - I take it you have PMd AmigaKit on this site about it? Sounds like a simple thing to fix.

@-Sam-

I'm sorry - how is that obvious? I don't know who is really operating that site, I just know it is A-EON who owns it. I tried to use the "Contact us" formula on the website itself.

Anyways, it has been fixed now :)

Sorry for use a old post but im in the same situation as kolla... banned for a mont (not a problem) but if i loged in still show the same message "Date the ban will be lifted: 10-08-2015, 02:00 AM"

There is no way to contact anyone if you are banned just a "contact us" link that is like an emppty house like someone said.

There does seem to be a lack of administrative activity on Amiga.org. I registered a new account over there ten days ago and still can't post.

On the flip side, I'm not sure things are any better here. I made a donation to this site that hasn't been acknowledged with a Supporter Tag even though the money was withdrawn from my account and I sent a copy of the PayPal receipt to A-EON.

eliyahu is currently on a train headed to Amiwest, I can let him know next time he logs into IRC.

The previous owner started that donation tag thingy, not so sure a-eon even knows. Was suppost to be a yearly thing & removed if you didn't continue, but the ppl that knew how to change the site left.

Ah... I wasn't aware of that bit of history. All in good time, perhaps. Thanks again!

@sundown

I wrote some private messages here in amigaworld to eliyahu some days ago with no answer, maybe is a long train trip.

Edit: My ban was lifted today 5 days later of the date.

He's coming to the West coast from the East coast by train, takes about 4 days. Currently in an area with poor or no wi-fi. Another thing, he doesn't read AW these days.

I'm sure some of these issues will be discussed with Trevor this weekend.

I don't think you can expect A-Eon or AmigaKit to exert any influence on the Amiga.org staff. [Whichever entity is responsible] merely ensures that the bills are paid so that the site remains working. They both have enough to do without becoming involved with editorial issues.

@tonyw

Yeah, which is why I didnt bother using the "contact us" link (Ive tried using it in the past too btw, and Ive found using private messages to Matthew always yielded results instantly. Not the case thru aeon email).

Anyhow, just found the fact that both me and grond got banned at the same time while being active in a thread kinda curious

Random ban of-the-month club? :)

While I found that thread annoying for my own reasons, I didn't detect any comments I felt were any where near a ban-able. off topic warnings... perhaps.

How do you know that you're not going to say or do something to get you banned again if no explanation is offered for the reasons behind the current ban.
