Hi all and Trevor

Was looking on the A-eon website today and was disappointed to see that there is no info on the x5000 just pre order coming soon. Would be nice if there was a specification page for it.

Also not listed in products/motherboards?

@g01df1sh

Could do with a bit of a makeover too, not mobile friendly, not html friendly.

Only parts would show ok on a classic Amiga browser.

I gladly give some spare time on it

I've no way of testing the mobile aspect not having a mobile browser, but WTF do you mean by "not html friendly"? I mean it's a website, it's writen in html.

I should imaging it'll throw a few errors on a html validator, but you wouldn't get close to satisfying your next comment if it disdn't.

Browsing in AWeb all seem to work, the CSS based menu naturaly degrades to a UL list but all the links are navigable and content all displays. It's unreasonable to expect pixel perfect dispay on ancient web technology when browseing a multitarget website, seems to be afairly good compromise on this one.

@broadblues

When I say not HTML friendly, I mean version compliance.

As its made in php, theres no reason it cant have two skins/layouts. One for classic, making use of tables and no css and one for modern browsers. It just needs to check the user-agent

PS the validator threw up around 200 errors. Also SEO is weak

@TheAMIgaOne

I am sure, that you can always make a new design suggestion and hand it to them.

Anyway, I never got why some people are so concerned about html validation errors, as long as it works.

@persia

You mean you don't have that anymore? Where did you remove that, at a hospital?

@Yssing

I do Search Engine Optimization at my work for Clients and validation is a ranking feature. In google's eyes a badly developed website with errors will rank lower, this includes alt tags for images, correct meta tags used, h1 h2 h3 p tag structure.

@TheAMIgaOne

Its the content of the site that's more important at the moment. Even x1000 has very limited information.

Sure, there are things that can be done, but I think we are beyond that with Google. Google is smarter these days and does more than rank sites purely on html compliance.

Search for A-eon Amiga and you will see that the first result is Trevor, and also the result is structured quite properly with entry parts to important parts of the site. That is a good thing. Yeah, mobile/responsive is very important now, but this is such a niche arena that we usually know what to look for when searching for Amiga stuff.

But yeah, aside from that, it could use a design refresher :) But I'm pretty sure Trevor has enough on his mindd

@broadblues

Your view on what constitutes HTML makes me question your programming skills. Is this how you view defined standards in general? Is your helloworld.c a oneliner just because?

I hope you have enough experience for such statement. As regular user of several broadblues´ applications, I would never question his programming skills...
