WarpOS was really popular due to Extended Hunk Format, that allowed WarpOS programs to be started as if they where normal programs, with PowerUP you needed to use loadseg or some command like that to start PowerPC programs, WarpOS was popular at the time, because it was easy to use. so program started to come with name "Warp" in it, WarpDT, Warp3D, and so on.
At the time, Hyperion was focusing on making games. Hagge&Partner was going to make AmigaOS3.5 and AmigaOS3.9.
After the fall out between Hagge&Partner and Amiga Inc, Then Hyperion Entertainment came into the picture.
http://self.gutenberg.org/articles/warpos
WarpOS support I believe was part of AmigaOS4.0 update X, but later became a 3rd party add-on, made by a someone that call them self "Guru Meditation". WarpOS support only work on G3/G4 type of CPU's. Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 08-Nov-2015 at 12:20 PM.

Hagge&Partner were among original parties for OS4 developement as OS4 should be based on their kernel.

And 603e/604e (and probably also 440EP). WarpOS support is still included in 4.1FE (at least Classic version). |

PowerUp used ELF file firmat that required patching dos.library/InternalLoadSeg(). IIRC this patch was built un to BPPC accelerators.
WarpUp just extended Amiga Hunk firmat that didnt require patching. Downside is that development tools dont support it out of the box. GCC toolchain only knows ELF. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook |

Storm C up to version 3 was made in house. It was easy to use but poor optimizer.
GCC was always the best but there was no IDE.
StormC 4 switched to GCC but never had it. _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook |

That is correct.
The Guru Meditation team in cooperation with Joerg Strohmayer
And Guru Meditation was also @reflect on AW and working with both Hyperion and Eyetech communication, part of Troika, etc. etc.

My CSPPC(060+604e) arrived my humble student apartment in November 1997, I still have the receipt somewhere. And the board still works, running OS3.9, OS4.1FE and MorphOS 1.4.2 :)Last edited by kolla on 20-Sep-2017 at 07:47 PM.

Man, that was a thing. I took me a year for getting my ppc board (waited for the BlizzardPPC, took a bit), but that was quite a step: vanilla A1200 -> 040/25 + 603/200 + SCSI + 64 MB RAM. A fat smile embossed in my face that lasted quite a while (albeit the usability of the ppc was less than expected and took until the MorphOS 0.4 realease to get really utilized and until the 1.4.x release to set free the full potential).

| Is this a reasonable time for waiting the ppc programs to arrive?
I like to go to internet. My 7 year old daughter got a phone that can do amazing stuff!

Agreed, do we really want a 7 year old to be able to use eBay, FaceBook and hack NASA on a smart phone but not be able to draw a picture on Deluxe Paint or use a joystick? _________________ "Art challenges technology. | @thread Ah yes, I was one of those people. I bought the BlizzardPPC + BVision. For me it was an upgrade from an 040 accelerator. I also ordered a tower mod for my A1200. Finally I was going to have an RTG card, to use better monitors with higher resolutions and more colours. There was so much potential back then.
I was already running MacOS 8 in Shapeshifter and was looking forward to one day running MacOS in a PowerPC enabled emulator. I liked the idea of 2 computers in 1.
I never did run a PPC emulator for MacOS, but I did end up running Debian on it. In like 2000. So for the most part, the 603e CPU wasn't doing much. But I did enjoy the 060 with the BVision. And the integrated SCSI II. I had a HDD and CD Burner on it.
It was interesting that they had one SIMM slot on the main accelerator board, and another on the BVision board. Hey, if the accelerator is a daughter card, does that make the BVision a granddaughter card?
See, Blizzard should have done more 68k accelerators with RTG for A1200s. _________________ All the way, with 68k |

Phase 5 did everything they could to keep the Amiga relevent. Beyond the Cyberstorm Mk1 it was a losing battle however. Their dual chip accelerators were ingenius but expensive and under utilised. Anyone still use Candy Factory? Last edited by BigD on 22-Sep-2017 at 03:03 PM.
