| @itix @kyle @elwood @marko @ROMwack @joeled Thanks for your support
@kyle Yo, here's my comment
Thanks to all who preordered so far! The minimum amount of 150 preorders has been reached by now which means: I'm working on the port again
However, 300 are the amount we really need to fully cover all costs, including my development costs. Since this here is a complete rewrite and no "simple" port like for example Tower57 will be, those sum up. The 300-calculation was meant to cover about three months of full time work on this title (plus production costs plus some other Cinemaware outlays, and taxes of course). As you may guess with 150 preorders things look different. I am not able to work full time on this title for now. Consequently it is unlikely that the Feb. 2016 release date can be achieved. I'll do as much as I can, but I'll have to take care first that my warchest stays filled to a certain level.
Because forum work eats up my time too I decided to keep a small development diary (not much there yet) instead of answering question X over there and talk about progress Y somewhere else. That way you can always check out the current progress. I'll also answer (technical, gameplay related) questions there when I see some on any forum. Just follow the link in my signature.
I'll also update the demo version from time to time, of course.
Cheers, Daniel _________________ AmigaOS 4.1 FE (sam460ex Radeon 9200 / RadeonHD), MorphOS 3.8 (PowerMac G4 733MHz Radeon 9000), AROS (x86), A1200 (060 80MHz Indivision MK2), A500, A600, CDTV Wings Remastered Development Diary |

Looking at your website it seems you are not only a games developer.
I wonder if you would accept a bounty for certain sorely missed software?
i.e. 1) The community decides what is needed the most (out of a list of possible projects) 2) You decide the bounty goal to cover your costs 3) We try to reach the bounty (and fail miserably)
Still, with you in the boat i guess even i can be convinced to add to the bounty
A printer driver package (i.e. modern HP only) comes to mind |

It is very easy. Pay for Daniel and you will get a high quality software like you want If i had the money, i would pay some projects, that Daniel could release. _________________ Amiga600/Vampire2/PrismaMegaMix |

Therefore, money will be transfered only if 300 copies are preordered, it is ?
And what about Tower57, are you able to work concurently on these 2 games ?
IIRC, there was a demo planned too for end of 2015 ? (I really don't know if I read that on a forum or if it was just a dream )

No, I'm a programmer for hire. There were some I guess seven game jobs over the years too but mostly it's boring Windows applications for boring tasks However, I'm not saying "no" in general to such bounties. But in the next couple of months I won't be able to do anything more Amiga related. And I have to say: I'm not familiar with every Amiga aspects at all! For example I have zero idea right now how a printer driver looks like on AmigaOS (and take that example as a placeholder for much other stuff). Yes, it's all cooking with water and most likely I can learn about it quite fast, but fact is: there are certainly lots of other people around who already know that stuff and are therefore better candidates for certain things.
@kyle Quote:
I'm sure that slowly, but all the 300 copies will be sold |
Yes, Cinemaware and I think the same - that's the reason why I take the risk and continue working on it
@zzd10h Quote:

No. The money is in the hands of Cinemaware now but I could go and ask for the rate for the work already done until now of course. And I could go and ask for more at the end of the month. However I don't need to do that. The reason is that due to only 50% being available I had to asume the worst case and that is: it won't become more too soon. Therefore I am forced to do "normal" work in parallel anyway. And that normal work pays my bills anyway. So, the fact that (in contrast to the "old plan") I don't work full-time on this project makes it unnecessary for me to cash in for now.

Yes. Porting Tower57 is a piece of cake compared to Wings Remastered. It was clear from the beginning that those two projects would probably overlap a bit and it's nothing to worry about.

Actually they already sent me a stripped down version some days ago I took a look but after talking to Benitosub I decided to wait for a more complete version, because he told me that he will abstract / cleanup many parts of the code. When he's done with that porting work will become much easier / less intrusive, so it really doesn't make much sense to play around with that current version.

First of all i think it's awesome that you don't say "no" up front to such tasks, thank you very much.
Second, i believe that you "put your light under the table" as the nice german saying goes
I'm talking from a non-coder POV and i really don't want to degrade any other coder that does amiga apps.
Thanks a lot that you help keep the AmigaOS4 software pool fresh
btw: have you had a chance to look at the problem i sent you? |

Have you considered selling some boxed versions after the game is done? I think some people might want to buy a copy when they know for sure the game is done. _________________ Amiga Forum - Sweden's best Amiga Magazine

The box is limited to those 300 units. They can be bought before or after the game is finished, as long as the stock isn't depleted. There won't be a second production run. The limitation to 300 is strict.
@Marky_D_Sahdd Thanks! What's your exact birth date if I may ask?

In the dogflight sections is there or will there be a way to change the view so it is further forward so there is less plane taking up the view? |
I just added that feature. There is such an option in the original Wings Remastered, but it's not "sticky" and therefore pretty useless.
