I should be there, it was a big surprise to me to find out that 30+ people lived in the north west and who are still big enough Amiga fans to come together and create a group.

LAG who meet in Welton (just east of RAF Scampton) are closest to you - I'd guess about an hours drive.

Darn it, if it had been the following Monday I could have been there.

Never mind, I'll make it someday.

Here's hoping you all have a good meeting (and many of them).

@Amiboy

Hi Amiboy, not a problem hope to see you at the next meeting

I have pasted the meeting summary below from the NWAG Facebook Page.

NWAG meeting 1 - 11/01/2016

Summary
---------------

The meeting got underway around 7pm as planned present were myself, Rachel Pickering, Vincent James Perkins and George Toohey.

Apologies were given by Ian Jolley and Ian Poynter. Amiga user NobbyUK wanted to attend from Liverpool but unfortunately due to lack of transport this was not possible.

The meeting only saw one Amiga brought (mine) but others said they would bring their machines next time. A change of venue was mentioned as we had the occasional punter walking in, and there was some noise from the room next door.

This is something that we will look into in the future and George Toohey mentioned a possible venue in Cuddington near Frodsham which he is going to enquire about.
Topics discussed included Gotek drives, the new generation of Amigas & OS4, using Amigas for modern day to day tasks and scene demos.

As it stands it was OK as a first meeting - the turnout will need to be improved however for the user group to be a sucess, so I would urge anyone who was thinking of coming along tonight to try your best to attend the next meeting scheduled for Monday 8th February @ The Windmill in Runcorn until further notice - 7pm until 9pm.

---

Kind regards,
Spud

Sounds like you had a fantastic first meeting. Five members for a new group, covering a computer that's not exactly mainstream is pretty impressive.

A few others and myself are looking into the possibility of reviving SWAG - The South West Amiga Group. We'll have to keep an eye on how you get on.

Well done, and good luck!

Unfortunately the 2nd meeting did not go ahead however I will keep trying and am looking at setting up a central NWAG website for all users to communicate to hopefully drum up more interest as not all members have Facebook access and keeping track of the mailing list is tricky for me.

Will put a link up when its live.

Kind regards,
Spud.
