Just rumours?

Rumours are telling that Commodore and Amiga have been working backstage
in a joint future of reestablshing the old Firm named Commodore Amiga.

I heard it from so many, so this is why I now am so sure that I intend
to buy the Commodore phone.

Any comments?

- Regards ...

Commodore and Amiga, two brands with no products of their own what a formidable partnership that would be. So unless somebody with an actual Amiga related product was buying them up and putting them together who would even care?

There was one such partnership few years ago. Commodore Amiga Mini was fruit of this cooperation.

@alef

You can always refer to the following thread to see what the Commodore parent company (owner of the registered trademarks) is up to:

Nedfield

Since I've seen no updates concerning Amiga Inc.'s 3 million dollar request to the Kouri family for their work on Pentti Kouri's estate, I'd say they're still working on that, prior to taking on anything new. But if anyone finds something public concerning the estate being closed, please post it.

I see you mentioned "phone", so I'll include the link to discussion of that:

Commodore PET Android 5 Smartphone by CBM Ltd. London

If you're trying to catch up on news for these entities after absence?, then you might want the links to some other things:

Commdore USA.. the final thread

Term Sheet for New Acquisition of Amiga Games Inc.

Recent Commodore Projects

There's more, but that should get you started.

I think the best thing Escom did was spin off Amiga as separate companyfrom Commodore. So I've never understood why people wanted the brands re-united and when Bazza got licenses for both brands people weren't very happy.

Be careful what you wish for.

@Rob

I would second that.
Why would the Commodore trademark be that useful (outside of brand recognition)?
And since most people don't remember Commodore as a builder of serious computers, do we want that recognition?

Fiat made JEEP the best selling SUV in North America, Commodore couldn't market Amiga past the A500.

I think "Nedfield Amino" sounds more professional. "Commodore Amiga" sounds like a Japanese girl band.

@CodeSmith

Be careful, Baby Metal, Morning Museums and the AKB/NMB/SKT/... ??? 48 groups are mostly affiliated in some way (usually which producer/songwriters they sing/dance for...).

as for Commodore Amiga, more like an Anime spun off the Kantai Collection of "ships" from past world war Japanese navy being re-characterised as teenage looking girls with costumes that don't hide so much.

How scandalous a reputation do you want as the Japanese girl groups usually have a monthly scandal with some member making the news.

ha hi hu he ho, for an evil laugh in Japanese regardless of anything else O

Not only that but everyone sees what kind of challenges the Amiga community faces so to resurrect these brands, these companies will have challenges as well. I think if there was something concrete, they would announce it.
