| Hi,
I just received my new ACA-1233 68030 clocked at 55 Mhz from Individual computers.
Since the CPU's are reused it may not look the greatest but it's whats on the inside that counts :)
I have ordered a 68882 50 Mhz FPU and crystal. Soon my evil plan will come to fruition!
You can follow the link below to see how it scores in SysInfo (there are 3 images in total).

I didn't know you could add a 68882 to these cards, is it easy to do? DOes it require any modification to the card itself?
Thanks! |

No modification at all. Just add the Oscillator and FPU and it works. Assuming your soldering skills are OK :)

soldering skills are never "OK"
They're always either awesome or inadequate, and they seem to toggle between those two conditions on an hourly basis
One day I can construct a nest of airwires to modify differential 3Gbps signal paths (typically swap RX and TX due to PCB designer brainfart), the next I can't even solder an inductor to two gold pads. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

Thanks for the info. I am pretty good with a soldering iron! NOw I am sourcing parts. It seems all I need is:
1 68882 50Mhz PGA - eBay Link
1 50Mhz Oscillator - eBay Link
1 PGA socket - eBay Link
The only thing I am not sure of is the oscillator, would the one linked work? Last edited by daveculp on 19-Apr-2016 at 10:01 PM.

The oscillator you linked will work fine. It will mount on the top half of the oscillator pin out placement on the PCB with the dot to the right.
You can see it mounted using my link at the top of this thread.
