Just wondering why it's always in Sacramento. That could be the most boring city in America.

@thinkchip

The show is setup and run by the Sacramento Amiga Computer Club. Makes sense it's in SAC :)

Did you know that Jay Minor was the president of SACC? They have a storied history.

Cheers,

The people in Sacramento get together and host a fine show every year. Can't be epecting them to move or run a show out of town!

I'm more interested in what they are going to show this year.

My guess about 30 to 50 middle aged (some younger some older) all in a slightly drunk stooper from drinking too much walking around yapping about, hmm, I forget.

No matter what is discussed, it is always loads of fun.

no idea. but one can imagine, among other things, the latest on the X5K and tabor; the latest on amikit and ALICE; updates from classic projects from individual and amigakit, among others; the latest games and new software for 68K and PPC amigas. the usual.

along with rather a lot of drink and rather less sleep.

@zzd10h

well i know the A-EON guys will be there. i don't know who will be there from hyperion, and how much they'll be empowered to speak on ongoing development. it'd be terrific if we had costel or ben or timothy fly in, but no idea who will be there yet.

but i go for the amigas and the amigans. not any one amiga-related company.

edit: i was just thinking. maybe we could get the SACC guys to schedule the show near a SHARE conference or something. then your employer might fly you out?

Oh just thought of another thing to note.... Sacramento may not be a hot tourist attraction, but it's in some reasonable proximity with San Francisco -- one of the coolest cities on the planet. Lots and lots of stuff to do there. One year we vacationed in SF for a few days, then did Amtrak to Sacramento for Amiwest. That's a very viable option.

At the show itself, it's all ahout Amigas and Amigans.

And in reasonable proximity to the Napa Valley for wine lovers and to Lake Tahoe for nature lovers.

@thinkchip

I hope that Hyperion send a representative that isn't gaged with an NDA, a representative that can engage end users with real information about the future of AmigaOS. They said through Solie that because a new board member was elected due to the bankruptcy that a new road map is needed to be decided upon, so I want to know what has been decided? Does the road map include multicore support, Gallium etc and how far away is the release of said projects?

I am bored with the awkward I can't say anything because I am not empowered to answers, give me a real reason to continue the support of these products, give me something to look forward to.

I hope Hyperion would not make any promises anymore.

I would like to hear that roadmap today and not waiting over half a year to AmiWest. The last years event was some time ago already.

Agreed. Hyperion have to think carefully how to keep their customers.

Usually cool-to-warm during the day and cool at night. Usually no rain.
