@Bugala

A demo version for Amiga is mentioned to exist, everything else appears to be lost.

@All

Tell Krister Karlsson to upload the demo to Aminet to preserve it and you never know what can happen from it.

Seems to be a massive undertaking if this should reach the Amiga again.
We don't have Unity IIRC and so either that needs to be ported first (possible??) or maybe the old 68K source is available and access to current graphics can be allowed.

@Massi

"Also, we have none of the original code as I have no contact with the original developers since the time we dropped the project in 1993. I only have one demo running on the Amiga."

As far as i read that sentence, it says they (= the current developers) only have demoversion, they dont say anything about if "original developers" have it, just they have no contact with them since 1993.

@Bugala

are there some information about the original author?
The amiga community are strong and sure we can find and contact him!!!

The chances that the original author has the sources and have not lost it is however very low

They technical reason that the game requires unity other than that's what they chose to use. Since we don't have Unity would could look at the possibility of a conversion rather than a port of the game.

If you have an existing engine with the same functionality it can be made much more quickly since all the mechanics are already there. You just need to add the graphics data, sound effects, music and then replicate the layout of the levels and attack patterns and the number of hits it takes to kill a given enemy.

I don't know about the other Amiga platforms but OS4.1 has one such engine that is made by developers who are still active. The MACE engine from Entwickler-X would be a particularly good fit for 1993 Space Machine but it would be dependant on if Frank and Thomas would be interested in it and also dependent on they could handle iOS and Android versions which they'd depend for making money.
The only problem there is that the games owner may prefer to port their own unity version to those platforms so there would need to be a clear benefit for them to be prepared to let another developer take a share of the profits on mobile versions.

The main point here is that Unity doesn't have to be stumbling block.
