What a great idea! Yeah, a Classic Amiga version would be brilliant! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Amiga ? Looks more like something Atari would do
Similar devices have come and gone ever since the orginal Portofilio (mostly ARM/Linux based) and they have failed for the same reason, sound cool sucks donkey behind in reallife use.
Oversized phone/small tablet just makes much more sense at that size. _________________ - We don't need good ideas, we haven't run out on bad ones yet - blame Canada |

I have to say I don't get how these project get so much funding, I got a phone and a controller a few emulators is just as good as these devices. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

GP32/GP2x or even with keyboard on the Pandora allready offer enough to have homebrew and retro games on a handheld.
As for really useing a keyboard, tying is much easier on an iPad Mini than on the 9" Netbook I have.If you plan to do lots of tying you should never go below 11" as thats seems the minimum to allow normal sized/spaced keys. _________________ - We don't need good ideas, we haven't run out on bad ones yet - blame Canada |

And yet the Amiga community can never figure out how to fund projects. |

I love the idea of this, but 'game console' and 'Intel HD Graphics' are not two things I would put together |

Im pondering going down the local computer shop, purchasing one of the USB cabled Classic Console Controllers For PC they have in the window, then taking my Raspbery Pi Zero, plugging said USB controller into its USB port, adding power, and HDMI adapter supplied, then installing Windows 10 for Pi, or MAME, or NOOBS, or AROS for Pi or any other and having one of these for a total cost of £4 more than the over the counter controller?
Im sure Ive seen a Pi Zero built Into a NES Classic controller. Might be Only 700 Mhz and 1 Gig Ram but thats still vastly more powerful than a 3DSNG at a tiny fraction the price.
Maybe Nintendo, with their release of games for Smartphones, will get their heads around using Pi and other stupid powerful to price SoC for their next gen handheld and console. Would be intresting if they could Crossfire 4 Pi SoC into a 4k driver. _________________ The older and more respected a scientist is, the longer it takes to prove him wrong. |
