I have experienced lately some heat problems with my A4000T (Amga Technologies) which seem to dissappear if I use the machine without cover. Replacing the front panel and PPC fans did not fully solve the problem. Thus, I am planning also to change the PSU (original) fan. The PSU is labeled "Enhance technologies, Model No. V525, 250 W".

Has anyone done the same operation with this PSU model? Is there anything 'special' in it, or can it be replaced by any 8 cm/12V fan? Is it soldered or with some connector? There is some type of heat regulated flow control in the PSU, does that limit the fan model to choose? I would anyway prefer a model with a maximal air flow, starting from power-on!

Regards,

Gregor

@Gregor

just recently replaced the PSU fan in my A4000 with a 80x80x25 (Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800) and the difference in noise level and air flow from original is like night and day. You can choose any new fan you wish as long as the size is the same and just remember to place the fan so its blowing air away from the case and out the PSU casing.

also there are 3 wires but just connect black & red as yellow is for fan control

Edit: of course if the A4KT psu differs from the A4K Desktop psu then the fan info might not be valid.
