but Maldita Castilla is avaiable on Os4 and Classic tanks to Alain Thellier.
here the link http://aminet.net/package/misc/emu/GMAP

I think Alain will need some feedback about

@tlosm

Thanks for pointing it out.

I am amazed about this thread because, while there is a lot of pointless and mindless discussions usually in this forum, one of the most important developments for platform in latest years (Game maker is a VERY important engine for indie games creation these days. I think it is probably the king for pixel games that had a terrific success. Having a player of these games for Amiga is wonderful news) and it did not generate any interest at all.

A symptom of the disconnection of the most basic knowledge about the current videogame market and computer industry in general that most people here suffer.

@vision

That has nothing to do about suffering knowledge.
The Author didn't advertise his port. It was simply overseen.
You didn't see it either. That doesn't mean you are a stupid
guy or?

There are so much treasures out there to find
but real life keeps us often away from searching.

@tlosm

Great find!!!

from reading the 'readme' file it seems it probably wasn't advertised by the author since it's not a complete port so he's putting it out 'as is'

@vision

I was about to write the same things as you did but didn't. It wasn't advertised because it's not 100% done yet if ever, but I do agree with you nontheless.
Alain did an awesome reverse engineering work here but as it's a complex task it's normal to let it go for a while, let's hope that he'll work on it again in the not so distant future.

I also hope that the low post here will not discourage him.

@vision

I spotted it on OS4 Depot a just over a week ago when it was released but I hadn't downloaded it until today. Sadly none of the executable files allow me to play the game.

Same here along with some console output.

Alain says in the text file that he already gave up work on it because the project is too big.

I read on another forum that the cybergraphics.Library & PNG & WAV datatypes are dependencies?

@tlosm & all

THANKS

Yes I didnt advertise about this port as it is not 100% done
But as I didnt touch the sources since March i decided to release "as is"
In fact I am not "proud" of my program as it is not perfect so no advertisement
(some bug occurs at some place but is very hard to figure how the GM bytecode engine should truly works)

But several levels of Malditta Castilla works well with GMAP both on my sam440 or WinUAE .... but I have lots of stuff installed (libraries,datatypes,sdk,etc...) and perhaps you miss something (dependancy) to make it works on your machine too
I mean It is not an hoax : we truly can play several levels of Malditta Castilla on an Amiga

But as i didnt have much feedbacks then I didnt know (yet) what is missing

In GMAP the d option should (hope it is still build in the binary?) print debug output
Then doing something like
gmap d > ram:debug.txt

This debug.txt should help to make it works

Alain Thellier - Wazp3D - Microbe3D - GMAP - etc...

@tlosm

I watched it recently. I really like artwork in the trailer the candlelit velum effect is really nice. The game looks fun too, it would be nice if this could be made to work.

Hello

have you obtained some debug infos? ?
If I have no indices about what running wrong then I wont
be able to fix gmap

For the moment there are
Me with gmap that works
200 people that downloaded gmap
Among them 3-4 that just said "It dont works" ... not very
helpfull

have you typed key 'n' (goto next room) to find out if a
room (=level) works?

Alain Thellier - gmap
