I am moving to another country and can only bring so much stuff, so I have to let my A4000 go. It is in the original box (as is the keyboard) and has some extra's, such as a scsi board with a scsi hard drive and a scsi cd-rom. There is also a ide drive inside. I also have an external floppy drive, a cable to connect up to 4 joysticks, a joystick, several mice, video cables and cd-roms. The battery has started to oxidize and though I am no expert, there does not seem to bee too much damage. I put some pictures on my SugarSync: https://app.sugarsync.com/iris/wf/D3005926_07977107_39823

I no longer have an A500, but there is still some A500 hardware, like a auto kickstart switch, several kickstart roms and a Vortec ATonce AT-emulator. And many many floppies of course.

I am not sure about the value, especially because of the battery, but rather than just bring it to the recycling I hope I can find a good home for it here.

@Drobanir

Yes it seems massively corroded. I could be interested in it, depending on price.

@bitman

I am sure we can come to some sort of an agreement. I've had a lot of fun time on this machine and it just breaks my hearth to throw it away. What would you be willing to give for it? Keep in mind though that shipping from Finland is expensive.

@Drobanir

from the top side anyhow, I've seen ALOT worse battery corrosion on Amiga MB's so yours looks like a good cleaning and possibly a trace touchup is all that's needed to get her up n running. That being said it would be good if you can take a picture of the underside of the MB as well.

@klx300r

I'll give it a try. I don't have a screen anymore, so testing it may be a bit hard.

I have taken out the motherboard. There is no damage on the underside. I have also cleaned the corrosion as best as I could and taken some additional pictures that can be found in the same folder I linked to in the start post.

What would be a reasonable price for the machine?

£150, that's way too low price.

@hese

Agreed. You have to take into account the battery corrosion but A4000s typically go for £500-800 on eBay these days. Not saying that you should charge eBay prices, but £150 is a bad offer!

@Drobanir

I realise you just want the A4000 to get into the hands of another Amigauser, instead of throwing it away.
But if you also are looking to get some return moneywise too, you could consider registering on

http://www.amiga.org/index.php

http://eab.abime.net/index.php

http://www.amibay.com/forumdisplay.php?24-Amiga

All sites that are frequented by classic amiga users. Amibay is a big sales forum.

Anyhow, just incase you want to increase the intrest for your machine.

@Overflow

Thanks for the great info. I have had a few offers so I will work with you guys here first. There is a
Great Valley Products 4000 HC+8 SCSI Controller with 6MB additional memory installed in the machine, so the £150 / €200 bitman suggested seems a bit low. That said, I am not here to cash in big, but I do want a fair and reasonable price for it.
