I didn't know, but then I normally don't follow these discussion that thoroughly theses days. It is positive that he dares to post here. The Frieden brothers should do the same. It is not only "our" fault that they where treated harsh. The were rather vivid in their discussions.

Death threats!? Never heard of that. It is a wonder they still program for Amiga at all after that. It can not have been Amigans making them. It must have been idiots wanting to sink the Amiga.

I certainly wish they posted *somewhere*... but I severly doubt that AW.net is the best place to do it. (Basically I think it would need to be somewhere that rudeness & nastiness isn't accepted by the TOS/moderators, nor seen as acceptable behaviour by the members.)

Things have definitely deteriorated.
At times it can be one step away from moobunny.

And its pretty weird when a MorphOS user finds himself defending the Frieden brothers.

But I like PPC based hardware and operating systems.

Sure, development is too slow, but we have very limited resources and a small user base.

exactly my point over many years. certainly people can be frustrated about slow pace of development, or lack of communication, or whatever. but the constant abuse by the usual suspects of the people doing actual work around here is at best counter-productive. it has driven away developers and users, and creates a very unpleasant environment for everyone else.

the need to point-score, insult, indulge in baseless conspiracy theories, and giving voice to grudges that have lasted more than a decade at this point has indeed turned this place into moobunny-lite, and we're all worse off as a result.

I can't say I'm surprised. Back in the early 2000s I saw people say and do some messed up stuff, and a lot of them are still here. A few years ago I seriously considered writing amiga software (I'd done some of it in the early 90s so I know the concepts - some tools for multiuser, something in a Fish disk that I can't remember right now and a bunch of stuff in C and Blitz that I never released), but remembering some of those threads dissuaded me. I don't need some troll who supports a different OS posting photos of where I live, or some weirdo off his meds calling me in the middle of the night. I'm doing Raspberry Pi stuff now instead.

Did anyone get contacted by A-Eon after registering interest for an X5000? I registered back in July and it seems like various resellers already have the X5000 listed on their sites, but I've not heard anything yet, nor are AmigaKit listing the machine for sale.

I just ordered my X5000 system last night from Amiga On The Lake. Now, the pre-release ISO is not ready yet, but Aaron said he should have it in the next few days. Then my system will ship to me.
