@g01df1sh

We have the Classic Boing Ball mouse

1000 dpi, optical, plugs straight into most Amigas.

@amigakit

Yes i did see that thought the price was a bit high really. £15-20 would be more acceptable

@g01df1sh

There are no optical mice made for the Amiga. Your only options are:
- Use an adaptor with a standard mouse of your choice;
- Use the AmigaKit mouse with built-in adaptor;
- Modify your own mouse.

All of these will come in more expensive than a standard mouse for obvious reasons.

@Daedalus

I had first optical mouse on my Amiga before pc's even heard of them. It did require a special mouse mate to function though. Cant remember who made them but it was great at the time.

@g01df1sh

I bought an optical mouse for mine at the 1994 WOA show, the biggest problem was getting used to holding the mouse exactly straight on the mat or it went all over the place and I wore out 3 mats...

Have a look at:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Commodore-Amiga-Mouse-Adapter-Optical/dp/B018WRILR6/

I know it's an adaptor but it qualifies under the cheap part of your request and if your 1200 is one with the seperare mouse pcb you can possibly mouse it internally fairly easily.

Edit:

One without an adaptor but doesn't say if it's optical or not.

@g01df1sh

Yeah, I remember them, you could get them for the PC as well. I remember them being terribly fussy about the surface of the mousemat. They had 2 sensors on the bottom IIRC, I guess one for horizontal and one for vertical. Never got one myself though, preferred to keep with a ball until the technology got better and cheaper in the '00s.

@Daedalus

Why do most of these adaptor have no mounting brackets. Like you said I could mount it inside I did this when I had a tower. Please can someone make a nice Amiga serial to usb/ps2 adapter with mounting bracket for either tower or A1200 / A600 case
