| I got into Xtreme Racing because of the Amiga Computing cover disks that included the full game! I happily bought the data disks pack on the back of this promotion as the game was awesome. However, the game wasn't quite complete as in order to compress the 3 disk game onto 2 cover disks Stilltuna had to leave out the map graphics of each of the tracks. I saw this on Wikipedia
Xtreme Racing Wikipedia Page

Subsequently XTR appeared as an almost full version on a magazine coverdisk, missing only some of the map graphics which were then made available for download on the Aminet. |
Did anyone download the map graphics? Are the files still available?_________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

Only type "xtreme racing" in aminet search.
There about 35 tracks with graphics. |

Thanks, but is was the map graphics for the original tracks that I was after. The Cover Disks on Amiga Computing Magazine didn't include them to save space and crunch the game onto 2 disks! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." There's an unofficial CD32 version available if you look. It has the added bonus of enabling you to use the shoulder buttons on a CD32 joypad for brake and accelerate. It should be easy enough to install and run it or you could just mount the ISO and copy the files you need. |

Thanks! That will do nicely All I need to do is copy across the RAW files in the Layouts folder on the mounted ISO. Sweet as! To think I have played this game for 20 years with incomplete Layout maps
I'm sorry the game wasn't a mega smash when it was released but the Amiga Computing offer really increased its profile and I bet Stilltuna sold a lot a Data Disk packs on the back of it! It's sad I never got the null modem feature working. I think the Data Disk upgrade actually broke the null modem feature but I can't go back to the original game as the Data Disk introduced much different handling for each of the different cars and improved the weapons _________________ "Art challenges technology. Sorted! Thanks Rob! I might check out the other tracks that are bundled on the CD32 version at some point but at least I have a complete game now and I've just realised that my mate has crushed 90% of my best lap times from the late 90s! He can't have been revising enough for his GCSEs at that time because I was pretty good at that game It was a great feature to be able to import your best lap times to your mates house on floppy and see all his hard work crumble as your best laps over wrote his best! You just don't get pleasures like that with trophies and the internet _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." Yes I played a demo and rather liked the jungle techno music included that I was getting into at the time. And thought it would replace normal techno. Which didn't seem to happen.
"Watch this!"
"Pink coloured paper. Pink coloured paper." Oh sorry that's my own jungle techno song I was working on. Because all the Jamacan chorus lines sounded like that to me in jungle techno songs. I thought it was a thing. |

We both had 030/50 based machines so it was a fair competition but my friend had a stint during study leave of practicing each course in turn until he beat my best laptime!_________________ "Art challenges technology. It is scandalous that I can only find one YouTube video of Xtreme Racing and it's a negative review! Can any one here do better? This is the one I found:
