@Cheese

Too early release, not surprising in the world of Amiga. Lets hope Hans will improve Nova soon.

Quite frankly I don't see why Daytona speak about that, he probably did signed a contract, not too professional IMHO. He should have kept this private and work under closed doors to resolve any issues, particularly in Amiga land...

english version here:

http://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2016-07-00008-EN.html

(please note that I'm not a native speaker, I tried to be as accurate as possible when translating his comments)

Daytona complained about the news item's title, since it implies he didn't finish what he was hired to do. He's right, I should probably change that (trying to come up with something better right now).

He probably did finish what he was hired to do - he just can't turn it into a really useful product simply because Nova isn't there yet. At least that's the impression I have.

@cgutjahr

Thanks for the newsitem.

Regardless of how one might feel about 'professionalism', Daniel is known for being a 'to the point no bullshit straightshooting' kinda guy. Considering his devlopments and extreme workethics, Id like to think Aeon take his comments as constructive instead of a negative.

The title of this thread is plain wrong, OpenGL ES 2.0 library development has not been stopped. Daniel completed his contract and A-EON has the source.

As we clearly stated at the time of the Enhancer Software was announced, free Warp3D Nova updates will be provided to all Enhancer Software users over the coming months.

Watch this space.

@cgutjahr

I tried reading the google translated version.
Yours is much clearer, cheers.

@kamelit0

Trying to put the blame on Daytona is the true Amiga way.

What AmigaKit said:
nonsense news-item. Interview put out of context by cgutjahr / amiga-news.

To make a long story short:
the job has been done; the wrapper is already used by devs; Nova is not complete enough to make the wrapper useful for real-world portings though; wrapper will require (minor) additional work regardings some Nova limits once those have been overcome; yes, developing it was no fun, because from what I was told I asumed Nova was more mature already.

No. I clearly complained about your complete news item, not just its title.

Cheers,
Daniel

this is hardly surprising. cgutjahr has consistently placed any and all news about AOS4 and A-EON in the worst possible light for some time now. i don't know why, but i have long since discounted anything he states about the platform, and would suggest others do likewise. it's a shame, really.

You complained about the news item not mentioning any of the more positive things you said about your work. The news item doesn't acutally deal with your work, that's just a misunderstanding created by my (really stupid) headline. I already apologised on amiga-news.de and tried to explain myself over there.

@cgutjahr

With an apology like that you should apply for job with the Daily Mail (just be careful not to mention your are from the EU)...

@eliyahu

It is a shame, I agree

As non-German speakers, we are unable to directly inform that audience in native German, so it is left to websites such as Amiga News. It is frustrating to see projects misrepresented to German readers. The news article is presented as written authoritatively based on solid facts, but the author has no access to the unreleased OpenGL ES 2.0 lib or the latest Warp3D Nova.

I have to ask, what is the true purpose of this news story?

IMHO, in no way does this make it a "nonsense news-item". Rather the opposite actually, it's dense of new, important information about the state of Nova and OpenGL ES 2. Thank you for this!

@tommysammy

Thanks for your continued support.

I was tempted to request the title of the thread to be altered but why bother, it is what it is. Warp3D Nova will continue to be developed and improved as will OpenGLES.

The fact that the news has been reported here by Cheese doesn't help the truth or goodwill/straight thinking either... for me Amigakit's and Daytona's own answers are enough to consider this "case" closed.

Well, just when you thought the tin-foil hat sniper minions had finally disappeared from the OS4 scene, they show up in full effect with lots of fresh Kool-Aid to pass around. How sad. For OS4.
