Hi guys i looking for an pcie 1x soundcard i now have esi julie pcie inside my amigaone 500 wich works.
Inly downside is it only supports 32 khz till 48 no 22 and so with some games i have no sound. That bothers me.
I found this card

These model cards works but I have experienced a stutter at intervals with video playback (stutter affects both audio and video) .

What games are you not having sound with ?

for example heretic 2 and all other games that uses 22khz sound.

ports from huno smoking guns for example
try to change khz in cfg files to 44 but no luck
wich worked with the star wars games.


and thats with the esi @juli pcie 1x card
so im looking for a card that supports 22 khz thru ahi drivers on os4depot

Are these games using AHI? In this case it shouldn't matter. Because AHI renders all the samples at the playback rate into one stream at the rate the card is running at. IOW it should be transparent.

Got sound working with most of the games that I have tried with an ENVY24HT card on my Sam460ex. UrbanTerror is one that I have not been able to get sound working in.

Yes they are using ahi but still no sound.
I dont know how to fix this.

for some games that have settings in .config files it may be possible to adjust the audio .

for example ioquake3

seta sndbits "32"
seta sndspeed "48"
seta sndchannels "2"

quake2

set ahi_speed "48"
set ahi_channels "2"
set ahi_bits "32"

Runs fine but smokin guns etc i get no sound because its keeps setti g khz to 22050 .
Do you have smokin guns running with sound ??

And hiw are your ahi prefs maybe i did something wring.

2 channels for Quake? That's rather small. The AHI default tends to be 32.

22050 sounds like an old Paula mode frequency for AHI. I wonder why it would do that?

How do your AHI settings look? I use HiFi:16 bit stereo++. 44100Khz. 32 channels. Most games should work in 16-bit. You could try 32-bit mode if you want to be exotic.

I also have my units set to same mode. And music unit.

Are all the games you are testing native PPC ports?

My ahi setting where the same as yours if tested it now on 32 bit 48 khz same result.
And the games i tried are ppc native exept heretic 2 from hyperion .
Mostly are games from huno ports like smokin guns i get no sound.

I now have a feeling its the esi julie card cant handle lower freqencies then 32000

No sound with smokin guns.
Neither the ENVY24HT nor onboard sound.

I have exactly the same with more games from hunoppc.
Ports i mean from fps games .

Now i wondering if the card inposted in met first post c media chip.
If the driver can play 22050 khz wich the envy cant.

It dont think that the Envy driver is the issue.
Both Mplayer and Dvplayer can playback 22050 khz audio with the Envy driver.

I'd still recommend to Envy 24.

It has superior sound quality.

Acube has some.

He already has the best card ,an ESI @julia. (They cost about US$199.00).
Problem is no sound on some of HunoPPC's games.
I think that the games may be the culprit .Not the card or driver.
