@RobertB

It happens that a package is on its way to Trevor's. Right now it is in the plane.
It should be there by monday/tuesday. If you like sweet cakes you'll like it.

Hi Robert,

Tony Wyatt just informed me of your visit to Australia (unfortunately I do not read Amiga forums anymore).

As it happens we have the Sydney Amiga Users' Group (SAUG) meeting in Sydney on the 11th Sept.

See: http://www.saug.org.au

We would be very happy for you to attend and meet some Sydney Amiga/Commodore users!

Regards,

Ross

September 11?! Yes! I have not made any other plans for that day.

I see the meeting is at 9 Oxford St. in Epping. My hotel is at 59 Bayswater Road in Rushcutters Bay. Google maps says that must take the 325 bus to Town Hall Station and walk over to the Hornsby Station to take the train to Epping.

No problem!

Good to see you about. Are you still active on the scene? Going to the club?

@RobertB

I'd offer you a ride but it looks like I will be far away that weekend. However for my club I'm sure I can find a ride for you. Hope your trip is all going well.

Hi Robert,

I'll be at that SAUG meeting next Sunday and I'll bring my X-5000 in the Boing Case.

BTW, once you get to Town Hall Station, there are several choices of train(s) that will get you to Epping. I suggest that you get a train headed for Hornsby via Macquarie University (every second train on the North Shore Line, platform 3). It stops at Epping and will take about 40 mins from Town Hall. It's a short walk from Epping station to the venue.

See you there !

IF I was in the area, an X5000 would be more likely to draw me than a Commodore machine.

@Beans

Well it is a bit rarer and not a Commondore so I see your point.

I'm still a little active, when time allows. Unfortunately real-life gets in the way of the fun stuff . I do normally attend the SAUG meetings though (it's the least I can do to keep it alive!)

Hi Robert,

Great, we'll see you there!

As Tony has said, once you get to Town Hall train station, you need to take a train that is headed in the direction of Hornsby. A train via Macquarie Park is the fastest option but if you find that you have just missed the train, you can also travel via Strathfield instead.

Instead of a bus, you could also walk to Kings Cross train station which is very near to you. From there you will need to take any train to Town Hall, and at Town Hall change to a train towards Epping.

If you have an iOS or Android device with internet access, the free TripView application can be very useful for Sydney transport. You simply enter the route "Town Hall (or) Kings Cross to Epping station" and it will give you exact directions on which train(s) to take, and at what time they will arrive. It also lists all the stops along the way.

Take a look at http://www.sydneytrains.info/stations/pdf/suburban_map.pdf for a map of the railway network. You can see Kings Cross and Town Hall on the middle-right side, and Epping in the upper-middle area.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Regards,

Ross

Well that's still good. Your still around. Haven't disappeared yet.

BTW. Strathfield? What makes you think Robert wants to stop off and buy a car stereo? LOL.

Well, today Trevor showed me a package he received, and it was full of Amiga goodies.
