| Just installed this on my A500 and loaded it up with a few adf files. My problem is multiple disks as in needing disk one disk two etc. Disk one goes in slot 001 and boot fines but when i get asked to insert disk two, I do what I believe is right and go to the device and change to 002 and hit the joystick or mouse button
Nothing gets reckonized and keeps asking for disk 2.
Any ideas? Thanks |

These have several buttons on them don't they, and I believe that one was to insert/eject the image you have in a particular selected slot. _________________ Test sig (new) |

Do you know if it can be setup up to load disk images from one file? To me it goes against the point of an emulator if you need to manually load the disk images in. You should be able to select a file that contains all the images that the Gotek loads in each slot automatically. Well that's how I think it should be. You wanna pick a game and load it. Not stuff around. |

Yes, the loader gives around 100 slots, 001, 002 etc. You load the main in 001. my understanding is 02 is next disk and so on.
Start the game and when it asks for disk 2 you hit the next button on drive and 002 shows up and then hit fire or mouse button to load. At that point it acts like nothing there and keeps prompting for disk 2.
I have looked at videos and read docs, think I am doing it right but ?
Even thought that it was polling actual df1 on computer but nothing is attached. |

| @Signman Have you tested it with other multi disk games? If they don't work either you have made something wrong. If they work you need better copy that game / app. Last edited by utri007 on 28-Aug-2016 at 11:32 PM.

Yes, all multiple disk games, same result.
Driving me nuts. I bought this with it already prepared for Amiga. I did play with jumpers but did put back to the original third slot.
Boots the adf selector fine, and one disk games work in slot 001 just fine. Still researching.
Thanks |

I think you need to contact the person/store that sold the floppy emulator to you and ask for help there. There are many helpful members here, but unless they also have the same piece of hardware, or used it at a friends, or show, they will only be guessing at solutions.
I have no experience with such item, so I'm no help either, but I would expect documentation to be available at the website for the device, or engineer who invented it.
Good luck! |

Yes you are right. Left an email at both vendor and manufacturer plus searched the forums. Sometimes you get lucky finding an answer elsewhere. |

Okay did some research on the Gotek. Seems it's a generic USB to floppy emulator modded for the Amiga. Infact Googling Gotek brings up a lot of Amiga pages for a device not made for the Amiga!
Have you seen this guide?
https://cortexamigafloppydrive.wordpress.com/
I read it is a simple device. But the Selector boot floppy on slot 000 is used to boot a menu to choose disks. And from there you press buttons to change the disk in that selection.
I don't see any button mentioned to load the disk in. So this must be automatic. I did read of a 4 seconds disk change delay.
So try slotting the next disk and wait four seconds. Any luck? |

| I bought 2 Gotek drives and one of them already works flawlessly with 1000 disks emulated on my Korg PA50 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aStx5-BgWJk
New step is reflashing the second Gotek drive with the Cortex Amiga firmware to be used on the Amiga 1000. I was wondering if the Selector.adf can be configured under UAE to load the kickstart image on Amiga 1000 at bootup? So I avoid hotswapping the real floppy with the Gotek after loading the kickstart. I will experiment, hopefully it will not break a 32 years old machine. [edit - wrong link corrected] Last edited by drHirudo on 23-Apr-2017 at 05:54 PM.

Update. I've managed to update my Gotek firmware to the Cortex Amiga firmware. I have been trying with RS232 interface for 4 days without success. Then I did the male USB to male USB method and it worked first time. I didn't need to replace disks drives for configuring the Kick1.3.adf on the Amiga 1000, I just used the Amiga Gotek SELECTOR.ADF Edit - http://www.ifoedit.com/GotekADFEdit.html - nice piece of software, makes your Gotek life much easier. Will make video soon.
