| After years of de-motivation, I finally decided to create a YouTube channel, and upload all my old Amiga-made work, the oldest of which was done way back in 1998!
Please go and have a look at my channel Rock Four films and start with my early work.
I've had a new project in the pipeline for years, but haven't felt motivated to work on it or use my Amiga at all, in case I short-circuited from a disaster some of you may remember!
Please drop me a few likes, comments, maybe even subscriptions, and I may be encouraged to get back to Amiga animation! _________________ SEX SUX

I think he means you put a lot of work into your animations and shouldn't give up. Spanish is his first language.
I agree that you should do what you enjoy and not let that previous mishap put you off turning on your Amiga and having fun.
I liked your Lego animation and some of your early stuff seemed quite psychedelic.
I seem to remember you saying that your software off choice is AnimatED. I vaguely remember seeuing something about it magazines but don't know if it was freeware or shareware and there doesn't appear to be any info on the net about . Can you do a video or two showing off AnimatED features and how to use it? |

Thank you. Any Amiga made videos testimony is precious nowadays... _________________ "When the Amiga came out, everyone [at Apple] was scared as hell." (J.L. Gassée, former CEO of Apple France and chief of devs of Mac II-fx, interviewed by Amazing Computing, Nov 1996). |

Nice to see you back. Always refreshing to see someone here who enjoys their hobby and not be so preoccupied with trying to dismiss other peoples choice of amiga-oid hobbies. People who spend their amiga time positively seem to be a rarity around here. I hope you finally got your amiga gear returned and fixed finally. I was pretty appaled at the treatment you seemed to be getting. The time you had to wait was far from acceptable.
p.s. damn phone.... nigh on impossible for me to correct my typos |

Eventually I found the courage to turn it back on, there was a reason for the mishap back then, but still very unlucky!
I was advised to turn the Amiga on for a very short period, then off for an equal period and repeat, increasing the on&off times each rep until finally it was safe to keep it on! I did so to use Personal Paint to convert the "Rock Four" logo to GIF and save it to a memory stick, so I could use it as my new avvie here on AW.net and my YouTube channel.

AnimatED can still be found on Aminet here.
It was created some 20 years ago, but the author left the Amiga not long afterwards. Think we've heard many stories like that! The last Amiga-related thing the author did was make it freeware.
Like the description on Aminet says, it has an easy-to-use GUI, but looks very bland, kind of how you'd expect a 20-year-old workbench intuition app to look, hardly worth doing a vid about! _________________ SEX SUX

Has your Amiga been re capped? Worth doing before they leak and destroy your board. _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

I blown at least one hard disk through a lazy temporary arrangement with an open A1200 which ended with the drive slipping onto the metal shielding and shorting out. I also plugged a long floppy power cable the wrong way around in my A1200T and that went up in smoke but thankfully didn't damage anything else and powering the floppy directly from the PSU quickly put things right. You live and learn.

Doh! Should've thought of that.

Was just curious and I remember you asking if it ran on OS4 so I wanted to finally provide an answer.
I'm not sure about real hardware with a PPC card but with my X1000 it opens the interface but causes a DSI error making the program unusable. I tried every trick I could think of, including the CIAagent and Blitzen hacks, and blacklisting it in the JIT emulation so it runs it would run interpreted. I even loaded it in E-UAE and changing the prefs so it runs on the Workbench screen but still cannot make it run on OS4.
So need to rush out and buy a PPC motherboard, not that they're currently available.
Pity AnimatED doesn't work in 24-bit your stop motion work would benefit greatly and the hand drawn animation could have nice rich shading etc. Did you try changing the pitch of your voice samples to get different sounding voices. |

At least one I did, Abby- the sister of the main character, Arry. After sampling the speech with the Megalosound sampler and loading the IFF samples into AnimatED I raised the pitch slightly, to make Abby sound a bit more like a posh lady!
Seemed like a better idea than inhaling helium before recording._________________ SEX SUX

Not Amiga-related this time, I decided to upload some of my really old work, if you can really call it work!
Before I established my Amiga equipment for cartoons, I used my family's old Video-8mm camcorder a lot, attempting animation by pressing the record button twice, very quickly!
Dug out some of my old stuff from the mid-90s, more lego! should amuse my subscribers for a little while, all six of them!

Think that's a bit too old for me, even if it is mint in-package! Since it was designed for the A500 I doubt it supports the resolutions I use: Hi-res Laced (640x512) in up to 256 cols!
........
Seems it's mostly Amiga fans who have been watching my channel, so I've decided to upload a mini anim-documentary I did for a college assignment back in 2001. This is the only piece of work I did that directly mentions the Amiga and shows Amiga-specific hardware and software. You see my old miggy tower, the one I blew up!
