I am not having very good luck with my scart to hdmi convertor box. Using on both A500 and A1200 and there is a visible distortion -wavy effect that is not real pronounced but annoying. Could be cable or box , I don't know.

So I am thinking about a scandoubler for the 1200 and on Ebay their is this external one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-ScanDoubler-RGB-to-VGA-500-600-1200-1500-2000-3000-4000-CDTV-SX-32-sx-1-/131674985056?hash=item1ea870d260:g:vUwAAOSwirZTrtIa

Any good, or am I better off with the Indivision internal one? Do I get more color depth or still limited to 256 colors?

I don´t know this product, but it seems to be only for NTSC (US) Amigas. PAL Amigas have 50 Hz display which may (or rather not) work on current LCD displays (which support 60 Hz).

Pure ScanDoubler is not GFX card, it will not give you more colours than you have now. (note some Indivision models have some features of GFX cards, again, I have no experience with these).

@pavlor

Thanks. Listing says will work with both Pal and NTSC but there are some questionable claims others have called out.

This looks like a newer version of the one I bought on E Bay UK a few
years ago.
I have used this on my A 4000's without any problems, on a 19 inch Benq
LCD screen . Also on a B2000 and a towered A 1200. ( All PAL machines. )

Hope this helps. John.

@KermitTheFrogman

How is the resolution, text quality?
I want to output from pal Amiga, with standard flat panels. ( I am in U.S.)

I have the latest version. It supports PAL and NTSC. The video quality is OK. Sometimes there is noise artifacting (digital) but nothing that detracts from your gaming experience. Not bad for the price and since it uses Amiga's the 23 pin RGB port you can use it on most of the Amiga products. Plus it has enough features such as an onscreen menu that helps you adjust the screen position and resolution to best suit your TV/LCD panel.

Drewlio's post answers this ! I have no problems with text or images either.

Also, it is most useful if you have more than one Amiga - I forgot to mention that it also works fine on my A 4000 Tower ( Escom ) as well !
